The seller sold it "as is" and it certainly was.  I opened it up this afternoon and discovered that it had recently been resacced but whoever did it forgot to use shellac and forgot to use talc and used an oversize sac and twisted the section into the barrel even though it was a friction fit.  The result was a badly twisted sac that remained in the barrel when I removed the section.  Anyhow, it has a new sac and I will tackle adjusting the nib tomorrow.  I think the nib is a replacement.  According to the reference material I have this barrel style never came with a number two nib.  The locking ring is correct for a 1907 or earlier pen but the feed is the post-1912 model.

@Penguincollector OOOOH!  That blue M605 is GORGEOUS!

As for me it was the Lamy al-Star "Harry Potter 'Ravenclaw'"pen, M nib.  Only I didn't think to check about whether a converter was included (it wasn't :headsmack: at the place I got it).

And a backup bottle of Waterman Tender Purple, since mine has apparently decided to play "hide & seek" in my house).

ETA: @kestrel -- That Conklin is also quite lovely!

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Thank you, @inkstainedruth! It wasn’t quite a sumgai, but it was close. I couldn’t let it go. I’m going to ink it with the Moonstone when my current grey inked pen is done.

The Lamy HP collection is really cute. The Ravenclaw colors are my favorite. Enjoy!

Top 5 of 25 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Sailor 🐧 Mini Pro Gear Slim M, Van Dieman’s Neptune’s Necklace

Pelikan M605 F, Pelikan Edelstein Moonstone

Wing Sung 698 SF, Pelikan Edelstein Golden Lapis/ Sapphire

Cross Wanderlust Malta M, DeAtramentis Columbia Blue-Bronze-Copper

Thanks!  You have fun with your new toys, too!

Sadly, I'll have to wait until I get home and get the pen flushed out of any residual manufacturing gunk before I get to play with it.  AND (temporarily) borrow a converter from one of the other Safaris or al-Stars.
