Three :

1970s 149;

Franz Kafka LE; and

"Monte Rosa" sub-brand from the (?) 1950s.

All good pens but the Kafka is a special.

i have a montblanc 146 with a broad point - probably my favorite pen in the whole world for the last 25 years; a Mozart; a classique rollerball; a starwalker rubber grid fibertip or whatever they call it; the little black agenda RB; a generations fountain pen in navy blue; a generations pencil in purple; a generations rollerball in purple; a legrand ballpoint and legrand pencil.

i have also managed to LOSE a legrand rollerball and a 146 broadpoint.

i own tons of pens, pelikans, parkers, esterbrooks sheaffers, lamys...i have to say though that the 146 broad point makes one of the most beautiful lines i've ever seen, and is less temperamental than lots of pens. if i were going to buy another MB it would be the starwalker rubber grid, but only in a rubber grid pattern. never got a 149 because it was just too big for my hand.

i agree ... the MB broad point makes one of the most beautiful and most interesting lines i've seen. its stubby but not flamboyantly so. i put tanzanite in mine.

Just two, for now:

MB Purple Generation, EF nib - perfect for Moleskine paper!

MB Meisterstuck 145, B nib - makes me orgasmic when I write with it.

I thought I had 149 because I was confused by the lady from Zales Outlet Store who sold it to me (yeah, blame it on her). But after taking it today on a field trip to MB Boutique in Glendale Galleria (Glendale, CA), to my embarrassment, I have learned that I am a proud owner of the authentic 145. I am in love with my 145, but then I have tried the Mozart, M nib - they actually allow people to write with inked pens there! Now I desperately want it in my collection. As they say at cruise art auctions, to become an official collector, you need to have at least three works of the same artist...

Hi there,

As a newbe to this forum but as quite an experienced Montblanc collector I have to make a formal apology not to list all my pens.

I was lucky to get a nice collection of a few hundred vintage Montblanc pens over the last 40 years and concentrated on ..., well, see below my text.

As a former authorized Montblanc dealer and owner of the first private German Montblanc Boutique I am also familiar with the contemporary Montblanc pens until my retirement in 2006.

Now, as a Privatier, I do not use and write daily with one of my Montblanc fountain pens. But my favourite writers are a Black Widow, a Medici, the one-of-a-kind 139PL, a nice octagonal vintage lever filler with a silver Sarastro overlay and a #40 push button filler with silver overlay – well, and my Quintessenz pen :embarrassed_smile:

Best regards,

Axel

Have just added 149, M nib to my collection. Now, I have three. I think it's enough...

five :

-a 1965 MB 146 with a medium oblique full flexible nib

-a 1986 MB 146 with an extra fine semi flex nib

-a 1966 MB 149 with a medium oblique full flexible nib

-a 1977 MB 149 with a medium broad flexible nib

-a 1977 MB 149 with a fine semi flex nib

I don't plan to buy any additional MBs. My five MBs are enough for me, they are extremely good writers and I am happy with them.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

As "daily writers" fountain pens from Montblanc?

... just 5* of 7

In my collection?

... too many and in spite of a few hundreds still insufficient :rolleyes:

* a Lorenzo de Medici 4810 (M) from 1992 with a Marcel Proust ballpoint from 1999

– a vintage #4 lever filler with octagonal silver overlay (OM) from 1928 with a #12164 Classique ballpoint from 1997

– a Black Widow 88 (customized OB) from 2004 with a #23564 ballpoint from 2004

– a vintage #146 grey straited (OB) with matching pencil both from 1952

– a vintage #40 push button filler with silver overlay from 1932 and a vintage silver pencil from 1935

But ballpoints and pencils I mix and even "mix" them with other brand's fountain pens I use as well. http://community.fountainpen.de/components/com_fireboard/template/default/images/english/emoticons/whistling.png
