Didn't really start out looking at collecting these, but I seemed to gather the following because I was drawn to their style and writing characteristics:

Modern: 149, 146, 144 BP

"Vintage": 14(italic!!!), 132, 246 (stub oblique), 344G (flexy fine), "demo" (clear celluloid) with a #1 nib

I like these pens for the classic styling and and the way they lay down a nice line. I hope to acquire more, but other pens are calling to me before I get another MB. Looking for Swans at the moment. Not a bash against MB or anything because you can read that as I am also diverting discretionary funds away from Wahl, Visconti, Pelikan, etc...

Enjoy your MBs!!!

144 and 146 both with a Fine nib. Both write great. The 146 is just a touch too big so looking for a 145.

I use a fountain pen because one ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to write a few reasonable words with a fountain pen.

I've got a Meisterstück 146R and a Meisterstück 149. Both have M nibs.

The 146R is my favourite due to its more practical size, and the lovely bordeaux red color.

The medium nibs are a bit to broad for my liking, so I'm considering a X or XF nibbed 146 as my next MB.

You can also send your pens to a nib man for modification to F or XF.

I've got a Meisterstuck 163 rollerball. My wife's friend got it as a gift from her company and she didn't want it. When she asked me if I did, I said, "Hmm, I guess so if you don't." I don't really go for them, but I'd never turn down a free Montblanc!

Maybe someday I'll pick up a vintage fountain pen if the price is right, but I don't think I'll buy a new one in the next 20 years. Too many other vintage pens to spend my money on!

I've got a blog!

Hi all

I have 13:

  1. Traveller Fountain Pen
  2. Le Grand Fountain Pen
  3. Le Grand Rollerball
  4. Boheme Ball pen
  5. Boheme Pencil
  6. Boheme Rollerball
  7. Boheme Fountain pen
  8. Writers Edition - Voltaire - Fountain Pen
  9. Meisterstuck Ball pen
  10. Meisterstuck pencil
  11. Meisterstuck Doue Signum Rollerball
  12. Meisterstuck Classique pencil
  13. Starwalker Doue Fountain Pen
I am a big Mont Blanc fan, although i have heard of some people who own over a 100 Mont Blanc pens.

Just a note: don't buy the starwalker fountain pens, the component where the cartridge fits in has not been designed well and leaks quite badly. This was quite a shock for me. The design and workings of the Boheme is amazing i just dont understand why they didnt just copy it, anyway.

Cheers for now.

1x 145 RB, 1x 14 BP, 1x 146 FP XF nib. The 146 I purchased today for $341.00. The pen shop clerk said it was a special order and then customer flaked, so he said no one wanted it because the nib was XF and he couldn't sell it. I had to buy it at that price. It writes perfect and feels great in my hand! I'm stoked!!

I am in the aquire stage of this madness knowen as pen collecting and right now I seem to be attracting Mont Blancs. I have:

....

1 Counterfit MB ball point that was $5 at the Portland Pen Show. Hey for $5 what else could I do?

What do you Have?

Mike

I have two:

MB149 with Fine Nib

Edgar Allan Poe, also fine nib.

I must admit to also owing a few counterfeit specimens picked ujp in travels in the far East:

Amazingly convincing and nice writing Starwalker FP and Rb-in the silver grid pattern

146 sized stainless steel FP & Rb, with a Chinese dragon decoration-the limited edition that never was!

144 sized set -FP RB, BBP and pencil, all in red toirtoiseshell enamel!

These sets were all purchased for tiny amounts of money, Typically less than $5Australian a set-as Mike says, what could I do?? The 146 set even came with counterfiet box and MB Carrier bag!!
