How Many Mont Blanc Do You Have

Ok...

Desk: Vintage Fountain pen, late 50's. Think its a 32, and its my knockabout desk pen at work.

Work: Brand new LeGrande platinum rollerball for meetings etc. (FP would be too delicate for all the moving about). I like the larger size for its more masculine feel.

Pocket: Classique gold ballpoint for my jacket pocket, and for its take anywhere, simple durability. And it wont leak on the travels. It's a pen I don't have to worry about. The smaller size is less ostentatious, and more practical, when using it in every day circumstances. Plus, you can get other refills!

...That covers my wokload perfectly.

Next step is either a 146 or a 149. Not sure which to get. It would be for best, and an upgrade to my desk FP! I'm only really interested in owning perhaps 2 more FP's: a Pelikan 800 series in black, and a 51. I can't stand the colourful and rather vulgar offerings about and have a real taste for simple black and metal.

I have one 146, a gift received about 15 years ago. I am about to go get it repaired, because I left ink in it for an unforgivable amount of time, requiring professional cleaning.

It wrote very pleasingly before I wrought such neglect on it, so I hope it still writes the same afterwards (and that my wallet will not have suffered too greatly).

Zero MB pens.

However, they perfom flawlessly. :roflmho: :ltcapd:

1 - 146 F

1 - Mozart Vermeil

1 - 146 RB

1 - Legrand 75th anniv BP

1 - Mozart 75th anniv BP

1 - Dumas Writers MP

1- Verne FP - F

Innumerable 164's in Doue or resin form, no Solitaires but seriously too many for me to remember or count.

Oh, also have MB Timewalker chrono with silver dial, a dual time watch, and a quartz Star Platinum watch of theirs.

Not sure if those counted but you did ask how many MB's you own - without specifying pens... though now I have to think about all their leather goods now too... oh drat. well at least a briefcase, business card case, the little case you can put a Mozart in, the two watch travel pouch, a couple 147 travel pouches without pens, well... maybe thats it... oh no... I have some cufflinks and a moneyclip too. I will stop now....

Just one, a basic black retractable Boheme devoid of any jewels.

Zero!

One,

If a rather battered Monte Rosa from the 1960s counts, also a couple of look alikes, not even good enough to call fakes and no real desire to acquire any real ones at the moment.

I have 8 Montblancs:

145 in Sterling Silver fp f (gift from a very special friend)

146 in basic black fp f

Writer's Series (not very LE)

Hemingway fp m (now retired)

Complete Poe set (my favorite)

Faulkner fp m

Fitzgerald fp f

These pens are stored in a wonderful black leather MB 8 pen case.

With any luck at all Montblanc will start releasing pens in the Writer's Series that I just don't like. :)

I just received my one and only, a NOS 149, still stickered, with a medium nib. It's not that old, though, as it has an 18K nib. My understanding is that they used to be 14K. I could be mistaken, however.

I did receive a burgundy 146 ballpoint after I graduated high school, but hated using it and didn't appreciate it at all. I ended up selling it on eBay several years before I knew anything about pens. I probably gave it away!
