How Many Mont Blanc Do You Have

Mike Schulz

Recommended Posts

I have more than I need and less than I want.

MB pens in my collection are like the tide- some times a bunch come in a rush, some times a bunch go out for sale, and then there are the few that live in tide pools and never leave.

If you want less blah, blah, blah and more pictures, follow me on Instagram!

Just two:

144 Bordeaux F (earlier issue with a black section)

144 Black OB

I'm impressed with the snap on caps, they seal well enough that I've never had a hard start even after a month of sitting around inked but unused.

Life's too short to use crappy pens.  -carlos.q

Don't we all? Well put, Zaddick.

Currently four, in the order of acquisition:

Dostoyevski WE - M nib

MB 14 - OBBB nib

Heritage 1912 - M nib

MB 12 - M nib

I recognize that all of the above pens are black, but this is a happenstance and not "collection focus" or anything. Other non-black MBs may exist in my future...

When I read the above I laughed out loud.

My childhood was spent near, and often in, tide pools.

Succinct and apt.

Thank you.

On my desk...

149 x 3 (fine, medium, medium)

147 x 2 (medium, medium)

144 x 2 (fine, medium)

Boheme x 1 (broad)

Writer's Edition Saint-Exupery x 1 (medium)

In the mail...

149 x 1 (OBB)

3-42g x 1 (OBB)

272k x 1 (pencil... because it came included with the 3-42g)

I should stop inking them after midnight, because they multiply.

And stay off eBay. And the FPN Classifieds. And Penboard.de.

I figure I have about 350 of various models from several decades of production pens.

Hard times don't last, but hard people do.

Thank a Veteran.

Only 9. Mostly vintage, couple of modern. All users, mostly inked.

Since I am in a funky sort of mood, I am going to ask a pokey sort of question.

I wonder why there are people who would volunteer that they DON'T have MBs? Isn't this about how many you have? Not why you don't have?

Same question occured to me, as I read through the thread.

Although, none is a valid answer to the question.

I like the image of your grandfather's two 221s.

Thank you for sharing such a nice pen photograph.

Are they reliable writers for you?

Having the connection to your grandfather is precious.

Currently I have 3x149's (GT F, 90th O2B, PT O3B), 1xAntoine de Saint-Exupéry (2B), 1xRouge et Noir: Coral (OB) and 1xHeritage 1912 (M), a total of 6 pens bought new which hopefully my daughter will inherit and enjoy.

There are a couple of pens still in my wishlist (149 Rose Gold, 146 Le Grand Ultrablack).

Cheers,

Luis A.

Both write great. The burgundy one is the best. Think because its a medium nib so it glides effortlessly. The black one you have to be more precise so think its a fine nib.

2x 149, 146, 114, 84, 5x WEs, 2x 1912s

I also have a similar number of Pelikans but wont talk about them here...

I like to keep a float of around 10 MBs, so will probably sell a couple soon.
