  • 2 weeks later...

...only the one..149, split feed, two tone 14K, plastic thread, West Germeny sticker, M sticker, wet, never inked until this week. Do love it.

I'm thinking 1985-1991 or thereabouts.

Oh you did have to ask.

I am perhaps embarrassed to report, following acquisitions and nib changes an even 10.

Jules Verne F

Moon Pearl OBB

139L late short window steel M

144 celluloid OBBB

146 celluloid OBB

146 75th barley OBB

149 celluloid OBB

149 early 60s first resin OB

149 75th Ltd OBBB

149 90th OBBB

I lust a bit over Heritage 1914, JP Morgan, Agatha, and Hemingway, which would make more than a baker's dozen but I've really spent quite enough. Perhaps one this year...

I currently have a few north of 20. Until recently I had well over 40. I sold off 20 or so to consolidate my collection to one where all the pens actually get used fairly regularly.

Cannot remember, 3 of the 149's though, several Legrands, including a silver duoe and a silver barely duoe , with matching ballpoints. All other sizes made except for the special edition, really high end models, including the Bordeaux models,, and the black platinum Legrands, everything with matching ballpoints.

None for me. Don't even have one on my wishlist. Not that I don't like them. I just refuse to pay for a name & logo...

Why is the 145 not that popular? I think it's called Chopin or classic.

I like them - I have about 20 in different nib sizes and finishes. I have a post on it somewhere....

I also have several of the WEs a big and normal Boheme 1912, 146 and 147 and 149.

I have at least 20 since I keep my pens in groups of cases that hold 20 pens per case, and I have devoted one case to Montblancs.

I also tend fall in and out of love with them. Currently I don't have any MBs in my rotation although it's the only brand I have enough of them to fill an entire case.

I have way too many modern Bohemes, at least 5 of them, a few WEs, a 1912, a 1914, a few 144s which are my absolute favorite MBs, a couple 146's, a 90th anniversary 149, a skeleton 149, and the Leonardo Great Character.

Since I am in a funky sort of mood, I am going to ask a pokey sort of question.

I wonder why there are people who would volunteer that they DON'T have MBs? Isn't this about how many you have? Not why you don't have?

I have 2 :

149 F nib from 1980. 36 years of perfect work.

MB Boheme retractable without jewel. Just because the mechanism is amazing.

And I think about getting a vintage 342.

I also just have 2, an old 221 and a 1980's 149. Both well used when I bought them but both great writers.
