Edited: I thought I saw a crack but it was a line that showed up from glare. It seems to be okay.

My view showed a line that looked like a crack but when I pulled the nib and feed it’s okay.

I would definitely contact them and see. What's very important with these pens is not to torque down the cap when closing the pen, but it sounds like a defect to me. The plastic does not do well from constant stress, but can handle impact without much trouble.

Stolen: Aurora Optima Demonstrator Red ends Medium nib. Serial number 1216 and Aurora 98 Cartridge/Converter Black bark finish (Archivi Storici) with gold cap. Reward if found. Please contact me if you have seen these pens.

Please send vial orders and other messages to fpninkvials funny-round-mark-thing gmail strange-mark-thing com. My shop is open once again if you need help with your pen.

Definitely contact Twsbi and describe your problem.  They will expeditiously ship you out a replacement part for a small amount of money.  I have done this multiple times as I own a large number of Twsbis, many of which have cracked over the years.  They have all been quickly and easily repaired via part replacement.  Unfortunately, it is the inevitable cost of using Twsbis….

I made a note here on how you can keep them in good order:

I have a pretty large collection of TWSBI pens, and haven't had any cracks since I did what I recommended in the comment above.

That was not my experience. A brand new (full retail price) Eco arrived from a local retailer with a dodgy nib. The retailer wouldn't fix it, said they were not allowed to by TWSBI, and I should contact TSWBI, who demanded I pay for registered international shipping. This was at the start of the pandemic when shipping anything was difficult. It was going to cost almost as much as the pen. Wasn't worth it. My yellow Eco is a lemon.

Will work for pens...

Thanks all and sorry for the original post. I’ve edited it. Off topic, but they have amazing customer service which is why I’ve been buying their pens since 2014.

They do have amazing customer service and they’ve gotten me out of some messes with my 700’s from 2014. 😊

There are many complaints out there in various pen groups. I’ve bought too many to admit to over the last 11 years and some of the nibs haven’t been good after tweaking, etc., so I bought replacement nibs. My issues were mainly with #5 EF and F nibs.

Me too! 😊. I’ve not missed a new release in years besides the 580 Iceberg. I started out with the Vac 700 in the amber and blue in 2014 too bad I missed the smoke. Any issued that I’ve had was my fault but they still resolved it with parts and in the early days I would send them in for repair. Philip has been amazing.
