Any Guess of Repair Costs to MB 84?

The Montblanc 84 that I was so excited to receive arrived with a broken piston mechanism. The seller might be interested in a price adjustment if I can estimate the repair costs otherwise I'll sent the pen back.

  The piston knob turns as it should and the piston doesn't suck water. Knocking out the piston is too dangerous for me to attempt, do you have any rough idea of what a repair might cost?  Thank you so much.

even if you get the pen apart, the parts will need to be sourced from donor pens.

i would suggest you get your money back and look for a functional example.

Success!  Northwest Fine Jewelry in Skokie IL can repair my pen!  Steve, steve@nwfinejewelers.com, responded to my email and gave me an estimate.  He looks to be a good source of repair.

All repair estimates come in about 10% above that "line in the sand" that you swore you wouldn't rise above...
