G'day from Brisbane, Australia

Hi everyone, great to be here.

I've had a couple of old fountain pens for a while now - used them briefly and pout them away years ago.

Anyway just re-discovered them and decided it's high time to explore the fountain pen world more :)

I have a vintage Parker 51 Aerometric, a Parker Sonnet (with converter, unsure if that was standard) both of which do write. I'll do a separate thread in the Parker forum for those pens.

I also have a lever filler pen branded 'Wearever' - a brand I have never heard of.

The sac is missing, as is possibly a metal band on the lid. Unsure whether it'd be worth the $ to fix it. If anyone can point me to somewhere I can find out more about 'Wearever' fountain pens I'd be grateful.

My other interests are manifold. So, not in any particular order:

History, especially Australian military maritime history. I am building and maintain a few websites of that sort. (I do website design a bit)

Mechanical watches  (love analog mechanical timepieces) I have about 10 Seikos and a couple of other watches. Nothing high end.

Shooting/hunting (mostly those wascally clay pigeons :D )  I have an old-fashioned thing going on here too - all my shotguns are old Side by Sides.

Land Rovers / off-roading/camping  ( I drive a 1995 Defender 130)

Motorcycles (I ride a Suzuki GSX1400).  I run a forum for these bikes too, which also keeps me busy.

I also have a dog. His name is George, He's gorgeous but also a complete (bleep).  I love him :)

Oh and thanks for not being reddit :)

Hello from Sydney.

Welcome to FPN.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Samples are really good. Next is a means to store samples... a small box or mini drawer with dividers of some kind.

Empty ammunition boxes are useful, I hear...

Not having such my first version was plastic from Daiso. Final version after some years and needing more spaces was diy laser cut plywood, similar idea.

Don't throw out the empty vials - they (and extra storage capacity) are great for mixing ink experiments.

Ammunition you say....

Hmm I have a reloading block but I bet the 'holes' are just a tad too small for the vials because murphy's law. We'll see.
