Faber-Castell Neo Slim Aluminium fountain pen in Olive Green, for under A$62

The relatively new Aluminium line of fountain pens in the Faber-Castell Neo Slim product family has been on my “watchlist” — or, more specifically, sitting below my shopping cart in the list of ‘saved for later’ items — in Amazon.com.au for most of a month now. This morning, the prices on the Olive Green ones dropped as one of the Black Friday offers. Sold and shipped by Amazon Germany, with a choice of EF, F, and M nibs, for between AUD $60.01 and $61.35.

I leapt.

I have a Hexo and I really like the nib on this line of the Faber Castells. It seems like the nib is a tiny bit more flexible than the #5 nib of the Loom. Both types are excellent of course. I'm not a fan of the hexo pen shape body, but I would consider getting a neo slim as a work pen.

My new Neo Slim Aluminium just arrived today from Germany! That was pleasantly quick. I haven't inked it up yet, of course; I haven't even attended to the Neo Slim "black rosegold" I picked up on clearance from a local store last month. Six parcels arrived today, and I was just getting busy with videoing the unboxing — not for posting on YouTube or Tiktok, but just-in-case for evidence in case something was broken or missing from (especially) parcels from China, and it's becoming a (tedious!) habit.

(I bought a Hexo a while back, and still haven't inked it up or even cleaned/prepped it!)
