Photographing Pens

I just received a Ron Zorn Pyramidal Light tent in the mail a day ago and was wondering what you pen photograpy experts use to stop the pens from rolling around on the surfaces you photograph them on?

Great question. I'd often wondered about this, and had sort of settled on poster putty as a solution myself.

One question, though - is this stuff safe for everything, i.e. BCHR or something else that's considered marginally fragile?

Actually, there is a product made specifically for this purpose, called anchoring wax.

It's used by musuems and photographers.

It's supposed to be very special and mild, to not damage any aritfact, or valuable piece.

Here's where I buy it...

I really don't think that there's any harm in just using poster tack, but I thought I'd share
