Hello All!

Many of us have our favorite pen models or makers.  It seems I am drawn to the old pen houses of Rajahmundry.  I have several Guiders from various sources (including Mr. Rao), and a nice assortment of Ratnamsons (mostly acquired from Dr. Ramanamurthy with the help of a very kind fellow Indian pen enthusiast), but Ratnam had largely eluded me.

I had tried a few times over a course of years to contact Ratnam via the email I have seen online.  As hesitant as I am to embrace new tech-related things, I finally gave WhatsApp a try and was able to make contact!  Through a very friendly process (and some assistance from that same kind and helpful friend) five Ratnams arrived a few days ago!  So far I’ve only inked the green one, but it’s a real treat so far.

Also recently arrived, a long wished for Guider in red ebonite (from Fountain Pen Revolution).

Also on their way are my first PLP and first Woodex.  I’ll share photos when they arrive.

What beauties!

Like you, I'm hesitant to buy into these new-fangled apps.  In your case, you were greatly rewarded.

Currently most used pen: Parker 51 <F> -- filled with Pilot Blue Black ink

Nice buy. Guider that mighty Jumbo and same colour was on my radar and surprisingly on FPR portal. Then it seemed I could buy two instead of one if I got it shipped to my colleague who goes to Rajahmundry and get him to bring to me.

Same here. I was hesitant to contact PLP's Satish on Whatsapp but that worked out quicker. Was writing emails to him but with long wait for replies. Pens are on the way to my relative through whom I would get them to me but soon.

Regards

I have cases of Indian pens and I can't seem to get enough ebonite.  I have 3 PLP pens on the way since I just heard about them. and I have tried for years to find some way to get hold of some new Ratnam and some Ratnamson pens.  I have several used ones that I have picked up for next to nothing on Ebay because the sellers didn't have a clue what the dirty abused things were.  I need more pens like I need a rash but, in the case of Indian ebonite pens it is a case of unobtanium.  Like everyone else, I have never given WhatsApp a try.  I am barely digitally literate.  May have to reconsider.  Do like the photos.  Always like those glamour shots.
