Yorkshire Pen Show - Leeds - Sunday 01st December 2024

Hi all,

as UK Pen Shows (strangely) don't publicise their events here, I have decided to at least give FPN a couple of weeks' notice about this one, which is the final one of 2024.

 

The 2024 Yorkshire Pen Show will be held on Sunday, 01st December.

The venue is:

The Village Hotel - Leeds North 186 Otley Road, Headingley, Leeds, LS16 5PR

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a list/layout of which vendors will have tables at the show. I've also never been to it, so have no idea what it might be like.

 

If you have been to this show before, and so have some idea of what to expect from/at it, or you are intending to go to it this year, I would greatly appreciate any words of wisdom that you can offer about it.

Not sure if this is a new venue or not for the Yorkshire Pen Show. It used to be held in Sheffield, at a hotel that was next to a Sheffield soccer ground, the car parking was bad news in the sense of restricted spaces but in number and size, you risked dented car bodywork, I know to my cost. Spent more on car repairs than I did on pens.

 

So a Leeds venue could be positive.

 

Headingly is on the north side of Leeds which means travelling through the city if you are coming from the south, you might want to check that there are no other events planned for December 1 such as marathons or farmers complaining about inheritance tax etc etc.

 

The Sheffield event was on the small side, not supported as much as other pen shows by either the public or the vendors, but still a good day out.

 

It is a pity that the organisers have not bought into the idea that good PR with a quality website and announcements to those who might be  persuaded to attend could bring dividends, perhaps it is down to manpower and time or insufficient resources.
