Parker Vector prototype?

I recently acquired a stainless steel Parker Vector, upon close inspection I found the cap was marked “ Parker  Made in USA.  and a small imprint CL. My impression is Parker Vector’s were a CM model and originally made in the UK, later France and apparently China.

My question is, is this pen some sort of prototype model ? Thanks for any information, Cris.
