Carene nib grind?

OK folks, I need some info. Can a Carene Deluxe with a fine nib be ground into a stub? Has anyone ever done this? Results? Is this a bad idea? Thanks...

It might be easier to get a stock ST nib and have the line width reduced.

By the way, Deluxe just means a fancy cap, it has no relevance to your question.

Linda Kennedy might be able to do that, but I don't know if she would need to pull the nib off of the section to grind because there isn't a lot of room between the tip of the nib and the tip of the shell on the underside.  Because you are removing material as you reshape the nib a fine nib would likely yield a finer line than you want.

Thanks Ron, it sounds like this might not be a good idea on my part. The idea came from having another Carene with an original stub nib which I like. I'll leave the fine nib alone. I appreciate your response.
