I'd never seen (Exceptions ?) in those colours; more of a black and blue or chrome guy myself. I'm going to use the old trick of swearing I'll never get one at my max budget so it magically appears somewhere in a couple of weeks...

Yeah,  the Exceptions have amazing nibs. Two of my favorite fountain pens. I thought I would have a hard time with the square body, but I actually love it. People often comment on the color of the green and gold Carene. Somewhat rare I've been told.  I really need a Harlequin to reside next to the Opera. Someday.

Great collection.

A green Carene and a purple Exception.  Very uncommon pen colours.

Models Left to right: Carene (4), Opera,  Le Man 100, Exception (2), Charleston, Patrician. The black Carene is a rollerball. The amber Carenes are a fountain pen and pencil set. The Patrician is a pencil. The rest are fountain pens.

I only have a few Waterman pens.  But I really like the vintage chased black hard rubber Ideal ringtop I happened onto at an estate sale last winter (I spotted some ink bottles down in the basement of the place, after the two pens I'd seen in a photo for the listing turned out to not be fountain pens) but figured that since I was there, I'd poke around to see what else I could find and said, "Hmmm -- there's ink bottles down here...  Wonder if there are any pens...." and spotted it on a small table.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
