Recommended Posts

Hi guys, first post on the forum
Hope you're well !

I'm posting because I'm searching the model of this fountain pen, which belonged to my great grandmother.

I don't have any information about it, just these photos
If somebody know the model, the date or anything about it... let me know

Thank you very much

Have a nice day !

It looks like a Waterman Graduate to me, although the Graduate went through so many variations that it is sometimes hard to tell. First produced in the early 1970's.

I don't think that it's a 'Graduate' - those have always been 'inexpensive' models.

The body of @Wigniolle's pen seems to me to be far more 'up-scale' than any 'Graduate'. Although I must admit that the fact that it has a gold-plated steel nib suggests that the pen isn't an especially 'upscale' model.

I have seen that fluted finish and gold clip on the Waterman 'Gentleman' and 'Exclusive' models (on both of those the body is made of silver, and hallmarked), but the pen's lack of cap/body tassies, its cap ring, & its grip-section don't match either of those models.

The grip-section and nib seem to me to be identical to those on the Waterman Cotèle (a 1980s pen), and I have seen photos of those that seem to show the same clip (and lack of tassie) on the cap.
I personally haven't seen any pictures of a Cotèle in that finish, but that of course doesn't mean that it wasn't available in that finish.

N.b. please do bear in mind that I'm certainly not any kind of expert! I could very well be completely wrong!

Slàinte,
M.

Once I looked more closely at the pictures, I realized Mercian was correct.  This does appear to be a somewhat higher caliber than a Graduate.  It looks similar to a Waterman Master. I haven't seen one of those for a long time,  but it looks close to a few pictures I googled.

If you mean the Waterman Maestro, I have one.  It does have that silver and gold color but is thicker, with ribbed section.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

No. Surprisingly enough,  the Master and the Maestro were two different style of pens. Waterman went a little crazy with styles and names in the 70's and 80's.
