Trying to identify this pen. Looks like a Townsend but insides very different. Cross on clip but I can make out FCC stamped on the cap and has what looks like a jewel on top of cap. Uses a single AAAA battery

I don't even know where you'd GET an AAAA battery.  Sorry, I can't be of help about the pen.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Not sure. I wanted to find out before I try a new battery. I called Cross and they are to get back to me.

Given the battery size I'd say it is a laser pointer.  Unsure if A.T. Cross made a combo ballpoint/laser or if not then maybe the original manufacturer's cap was lost and a prior owner found the current Cross cap fit just as well.

This is a long shot, but it looks like there isn’t much left to try. There’s a Cross dealer on Ebay named dalu1409. They’re located in Rhode Island and seem to be pretty knowledgeable about Cross- their store is Cross Pens 4 Less. Try contacting them.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 20 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 310s F, mystery grey ink left in converter

Sheaffer Jr. Balance ebonized pearl F, Skrip Black

Pelikan M400 Blue striped OM, Troublemaker Abalone

Platinum PKB 2000, Platinum Cyclamen Pink

Yay! I’m so glad to have helped you in some small way. Are you going to look for the tablet?

Looks like it’s from the CrossPad 1998. Found a video on it.
