From memory, it's been like that for years now 😔

The owner is very much a practitioner of 'light-touch' (or, rather, 'hands-off') 'moderation'.

The owner had been absent for years and they never had a moderation team. It’s a mess.

There is literally NO moderation on that site. I find it unusable.

From what I remember, no moderation is a feature there, not a bug. Many of their members didn’t like the amount of moderation on other sites. I used to post on there, but discussions would devolve into ad hominem attacks rather frequently between a few members.

As I recall, there is a certain (ex-)member there who, out of spite, has unleashed a spambot of his own making against that forum.

I joined once but never spent any time there. Do they have a sales forum, and if so, how is it to use as a seller?

You can still successfully sell pens on their classified forum, I have done so recently, but honestly you get a bigger audience and a faster deal on eBay.  The FPG classified browsers have dried up recently because of all the ads for crypto and sportsbooks. There is still activity, but nowhere near what it once was.

I spent a couple of weeks on there when FPN was down due to a cyber attack against the host system a number of years ago, along with a few other "refugees".  It was really appalling -- and I was SOOOO happy when this site was back up and running.

I so wish they would bring the FPN classifieds back...it was the best place to buy/sell pens.  Reddit seems sketch and a lot of work...ebay just has too much stuff to sort through...and FPGeeks is a disaster with the spam.

I used to sell there and priced things well so my pens were normally gone in 24hrs. It's been a few years though. I do see the spam that didn't used to happen, but I just don't open spam posts. I sometimes look for pens to buy there, but not much I've been currently interested in. I really don't consider selling on eBay due to the paypal+ebay fees eating into what would be a fair price. At least with a place like pfgeeks I'm only out PayPal G&S and shipping costs.

The occasional peeks I had at the Classifieds when I started on here convinced me that it really wasn't that great a place to buy pens.  Pretty much everything I saw (mind you this is a decade or more ago at this point) for sale was some snooty pen at a super-inflated price -- and was likely going to be too big and heavy for me anyway.

When I started on here, I had pretty much never paid more than about $10-$15 US for a pen, and the stash mostly included a few cheap $5 Chinese pens, and a couple of $6.95 Parker Reflexes and a Parker Vector (I felt SOOO extravagant because I'd paid a whole whopping NINE DOLLARS for it -- little did I know) and the temporary replacement for it: the Parker Urban from H*ll (SOOOO glad I paid for the extended warranty on THAT garbage pen...).

Not a big fan of Reddit.  I went on briefly a few years ago because someone here had posted a link to some thread on it -- only to have my in-box FLOODED with extraneous posts from people I'd never heard of ranting and arguing about some topic that I didn't think I was even CONNECTED to....  And had to kinda fight tooth and nail to CLOSE the Reddit account which I don't remember actually signing up for to BEGIN with...).

In general, I WAY prefer having civilized conversations with people who behave like the adults they're supposed to be.
