Curling ... was invented in Scotland.

By frozen children, with rocks, brooms, and a frozen pond. ;)  (Do not try to dissuade me - I care nothing for the facts as Quin, Makhabesh, Essri, and Vika can all attest - under oath, if need be. :D )

As a sport it's almost as daft, and almost as full of obscure rules and measurement units, and almost as pointless - and just as deep and as fascinating - as the English game of cricket

  Cricket makes absolutely no sense to this American.  None.  And it's only interesting when it's part of the plot in an episode of Midsomer Murders. :D

I see that you've actually been to Scotland... ;)

(For anyone who hasn't, it's just like Yorkshire, only more so.)

We used to have frozen ponds (read aka hockey rinks). I used to enjoy the muffled sound of the hockey puck hitting rinks. Nowadays, it's a luxury. The weather is so capricious that we're getting used to having rain on the snow. Yuck! :(

  Closest I've been is London.  But Mom's side of the family are from up there (some of them), while Dad's side were from England.  Mom was a genealogist and had done sufficient research to theorize that her family and Dad's probably fought on opposite sides in at least one conflict between the Scots and the English. :D  Once in America, Dad's side were Yankees and Mom's were southerners, so the battles may have continued through the civil war... :)

@LizEF I was reading on my phone and was trying to figure out the relationship between a gynecologist and Scotland. Sometimes one needs glasses :lticaptd:

Poor @InesFwI'll wake up and see her thread has grown like the Beanstalk into the clouds 😄

Here is another attempt at a foggy landscape. Done with a brush pen filled 1:1 Lexington Gray

Paper is a Talens pocket notebook.

Oh yes!, that's real November atmosphere!

A nice interpretation, a fitting colour, and a ghost in the centre 👀 as an add-on! :)

Ghost neat. I really enjoyed this challenge @InesF. Trying to blur lines with ink is not an easy feat, especially with waterproof ink.

Here is another attempt.

I used Lexington Gray for rough sketches and grey back ground.

The green is either Kala Scapolite or Noodler's Polar Green. I don't remember which because I added do much diluted Lexington Gray. But the edges were too harsh.

Then I used Octopus White Polar Bear to soften the edges. I like how this ink creates texture.

Paper is Talens pocket book. So it enters a shirt pocket :D

I see, you have fun doing these images!  That's the best part and much more than I hoped for.

I love how you bring muted colours into the wash - it suggests deepness!

Before adding the white, the drawing had a dreary atmosphere. With the white, it looks ghostly and spooky! 👀

My idea was to make a tree alley that disappears towards the horizon. I'm not sure when I will find the time doing it. Until then, I enjoy your drawings and got the impression that November Challenge is a full success! Thank you! 👍 :)

I never though I'd enjoy white ink so much :)

I'm looking forward to seeing your work. I normally do my work on the fly, but when I do take the time and sketch and ink properly it is really fun, but it takes a lot of time. :)

There's a new French animation film released in Europe and poster has the same image you depict. The title in German is: Das kostbarste aller Güter or The Most Precious Of Cargoes in English.

Thank you, @yazeh, great find! 👍

OMG, that's very close to what I intended and, as the critique reads, it will be a movie well worth seeing!

When I saw the poster, the first thing I thought was what you intended to draw..

BTW, there's also a new animation from Latvia, featuring @LizEF, Klaw :D

It's about a cat who has to learn to face his fear of water and mistrust of others ;)

Real November is a bit more foggy than my drawing. That's life, I guess 🤷‍♀️

See you tomorrow with Season IV December Inks. :)

Very nice!  I can imaging a nice stroll with the occasional cheep from a bird hidden in the trees, huddling in my nice warm fall jacket. :)  Thanks, @InesF!

(I haven't given up on writing a little story - I still have today...  This month has been absurdly busy, and if I'm blunt, I hate the holidays for that. People you haven't seen or heard from all year suddenly think you should get together and catch up just because it's a big holiday, other people try to cram a zillion events into the final two months of the year.  It's annoying.  I wish the big holidays were evenly distributed throughout the year.)
