Decisions, decisions

Ok. I must admit this is a nice problem to have.

I've had some overtime which means I can treat myself to a new MB. (Not that I have to).

I lik ebuying pens that will inspire me. As such, I'm currently thinking of the MB Robert Louis Stevenson or the MB Maria Callas.

Stevenson is a writer from Scotland and having a WE from my home country would inspire me greatly. I'm also a big opera fan - so having a turqoise muse would also tickle me - pink.

I can try a Stevenson in my local MB store as they have a couple left, but Murphy's law says they do not have the Callas. I'll have to go to London to find one to try it.

I have a beautiful WE Shakespeare already,  a MB146  and a 254. All my MBs so far are piston fillers. I beleive the Callas is a cartridge/convertor. I love the fact that pistons contain enough ink to write interrupted for 2 or 3 weeks, but I also like the versatility of C/c pens where you can change the ink quickly and easily.

I'm sure either  would be lovely, but I can only afford one.

So, which one do you think I should you choose?

I went toy local B&M stockist. To my surprise, and my wallet's horror, they had the Stevenson pen and the ink!

I like to treasure map and skull and crossbones artwork on the ink box.

Will ink it later, and let you know if it's any good.

Finding it would be nice. It's sold out everywhere - in the UK anyway.

Here we are with a writing sample.

The ink is a green tinged brown.

@sandy101 Thank you for this image.  The pen looks impressive and the ink hue is quite lovely.  Do both meet with your expectations?

The pen wrote out of the box and is delightful. It looks heavy, but is quite light.

The ink is a marine tinged brown which suits the theme delightfully.

I'm hoping to play with the pen for the next couple of weeks.

I think its going to be a lot of fun. I'm starting to think of my own pirate themed story, but set in the present day.

@sandy101Congrats! It’s a really cool pen. I would have chosen Stevenson over Callas too. The skull is hard to resist. The Callas has a very thin section and uncomfortable step-down. Of course I would understand if you are a big Callas fan, it’s a must have. Purely from aesthetics, I prefer the Stevenson pen. Enjoy it!!

This is perhaps the highest testimonial one could offer for the Stevenson.  It is gratifying to hear that you are enamoured with the pen!  The ink’s suitability to the pen’s theme is the icing on the cake.  May both serve you well in your creative writing endeavours — particularly the pen for many years to come.

It’s a little telescope! I love it! “Enjoy it, matey!” says the lady with the parrot on her shoulder.
