I was told that the ebonite version is to be released this November or December.

I have my mind set on one. I wonder about the price, however. I would hope it to be significantly lower than the Titanium version.

I bought my Santini Giant Faceted directly from Santini Italia for not much more than the current price of the WS/JL 900.

At these prices Chinese pens are starting to loose their raison d'etre.

The Giant's in-house nib is marketed as a #8. However, it dwarfs the 630 #8 and P139 #8 nibs.

How much was the Santini Giant Faceted? I thought they are like 700 euros. Do they offer discount or there are less expensive versions?

Ok resellers would be ripping you guys off if they sell for 600 dollars. Domestic price is RMB 2700 for normal and 3000 for Jun-Feng grinded nibs.

Yes, this is true! And I bought the 900 knowing that, because what is the alternative for buyers outside China? Especially when even at these inflated prices, they are still price-competitive with their Western peers.

By the way, thank you for your previous response, we have so little insight into the Chinese pen market, your responses are very helpful.

Yes. +600 to +700. Something in that range. But they frequently offer a 10% discount. That discount also applied to Giants that were on sale at the time I bought mine. The total was under €600 for my Giant Faceted Spartus.

And if I had settled for a cylindrical non-ebonite Giant it would have been easily under €500.

I just browsed their pens, very nice looking and very reasonably priced. Italian quality, but not the same old thing. Certainly preferable (to me at least) over the acrylic steel-nibbed pens that can be almost as expensive.

Santini have a small cult following here on FPN, and for good reason. They are well made, the nibs are in-house, and they have actual quality control. Each pen is tuned and tested before shipping with a handwritten note (using the actual pen) included.

And, yeah: the price is reasonable.
