:) I'm sure you can concoct a version of Aubergine with your inkmesiter talents :)

Thank you for your trust in my abilities! In this case, I humbly confess that I have already found a favourite ink in deAtramnentis Aubergine, without which a life with pen and ink hardly seems possible. ;) :)

You can always try a sample, but there are, as @InesF mentioned, too many turquoises. I'll be hopefully reviewing another one, which had much more character, plus it shaded /sheened, with wider nibs ;)

Ahh, I have a suspect! 🫢 :) However, I can't wait becoming surprised by your review! :)

One life!

I have only used the ink so far on my Hobonichi Techo, and I have not had any issues with it.  It does, indeed, to be a more or less standard turquoise. There are undoubtedly other great sky/blue turquoise inks out there -- Lamy Turquoise/Pacific Blue; J. Herbin Bleu Pervenche, Anderillium Blue Ringed Octopus, Robert Oster Bora Bora Waters, Waterman South Seas Blue, etc.

In my notebooks, there are mostly only slight shades of difference among these inks and they all perform well. I did think "Blue Eyed Mary" was a tiny bit brighter than Bleu Pervenche -- which was the only side by side comparison I did.

(And, yes, you have to be more than a little crazy to have as much ink as I do lying around, let alone multiple versions of turquoise.)

Thank you for the comprehensive review, Yazeh. Your kitties and mousies are always très amusant. I’ve had this ink in my Skyline for awhile now. It’s greener than my other turquoises that are inked right now, and definitely a bit wet for the ebonite feed. It’s starting to run low and behaving better now. It’s definitely not the blue that I would expect to represent that particular flower. I picture something closer to a true blue, with a hint of purple. I like it though, but if left to my own devices- I would have every ink in the color spectrum from green to blurple.

Top 5 of 19 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Sailor x Daimaru Central Rockhopper Penguin PGS mini, Sailor Wonder Blue

Parker 88 Place Vendôme IB, Diamine Golden Sands

Salz Peter Pan 18k gold filled filligree fine flex, Waterman Serenity Blue

Pilot Silvern Dragon IB, Iroshizuku Kiri-Same

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

True blue with a hint of purple, I won't forget that one :)
