I believe that the usual reason that caps don't hold well on 45s has nothing to do with the cap itself, but is due to shrinkage of the plastic of the section.

 

Examine the section. Do you see any deformation of the plastic?

Thank you for the comment.I will look at the sections, if that's the case there will be no easy repair besides finding new sections.

   Five Star Pens is where I get my 45 sections. They also have other parts if the cap does need replacing. 

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 20 currently inked pens:

Sheaffer 100 Satin Blue M, Pelikan Moonstone/holographic mica

Parker T1, Dominant Industry Dominant Blue

Pilot Custom 743 <FA>, Oblation Sitka Spruce

Platinum PKB 2000, Platinum Cyclamen Pink

Waterman 52 EF, Herbin Bleu Pervenche
