I was given some William Hanna sheets of paper, and they fit in the Circa and Tul. I have no experience with ARC.

@Misfit How did the William Hannah paper get along with fountain pens?  A win?  Or something less...  Looking at their website just now, they say their stock is 115 gsm, so I wonder if it's hyper absorbant.

Absorbancy -- some people say that's exactly what you want in a planner since ink dries quickly.  You can make a quick note, close the notebook, and no smudgy smudge.  On they other hand, heavy duty paper can be the destroyer of all thing sheeny, shaded, and shiny...  I usually lean towards smudginess.

Currently most used pen: Sailor Pro Gear Iris Nebula, Medium nib -- Diamine Salamander

I use a piece of blotting paper as a bookmark.

I’ll stop by the office supply stores when running errands near them and see what disc systems they have. I was given some Séyès ruled paper that is meant for a disc bound notebook and it is a good size. I’m glad I thought of this so early, there’s a lot to take into account.

@Mechanical if you do a site search on Google, another member reviewed William Hanna paper while looking for an old Tomoe River replacement. It may answer your questions.

@Mechanical please check the review @Penguincollectormentioned as I haven’t tried the William Hanna paper yet.

Here it is… and what a nice review!   It looks really promising.

Well, that’s a smart idea.  I have bits of blotter paper on my desk, but I am at my smudgy best when I’m out and about.  I’ll rummage about and find a good length for my A5 notebook.

  • 4 weeks later...

This is a future day/month of my Franklin planner. The bottom photo is with some notes in fountain pen. I don't recall what pen and ink it was.

You can get January, April, July and October start dates. I use January and having been using it since January 1986.

The binder in the photo is the storage binder and holds all twelve months. My regular binder holds 3 months. Last, current and next. The pages are drilled for 7 holes. This is the original 2 page per day layout. They also have one page per day and weekly formats. This is the Classic size (A5/half letter), both larger and smaller sizes are available too.

@Runnin_Ute, I ended up ordering something rather similar to your system. I have found TR 68 Filofax refills in a weekly format where I can write in the dates on Etsy. I have a couple of filofax planners that I can use with it already, so it works out. I did check out the Franklin site and will keep it in mind because the TR 68 won’t last forever.

I ordered a planner from Temu. Very cheap. Less than $10.00. It is called Notebook, Manage time. It has 365 pages. I was surprised how well it works with fountain pens.

That’s a nice looking notebook, @RedPie. I really like Chinese Daolin paper, which that notebook reminds me of.  I like the page header especially.
