New Pelikan M670 Warm Grey.

I'm of two minds on this one. I'm a sucker for ruthenium plated nibs and fittings, I know this is a PVD finish but like it. It does go with the "warm gray" but doesn't feel as fancy as a celluloid striped body. My current M605 is the dark blue and is nice, but I bought it used back in 2018 for $210. I was thinking what if it was a stresemann with black nib and parts but then black rings would just fade into the black cap. Guess the pairing with gray was the right choice for them.

Laguna Niguel, California.

I'm a new Pelikan 600  M (Black w/ink window?) owner.  It's the last pen I'm buying. I have more pens than I really need, but each one is special.  I really don't know why I'm attracted to this particular brand or pen. I just know I love the way it feels and writes.

Can someone older than me (8 years in the hobby) chime in. It seems to me that since Pelikan has changed hands new special editions seem to be rolling out non stop. I seem to remember 5-6 years ago there were  at least 3 times less new special edition pens released in a year than now. I wanted to collect the m600 pens I like but even so, I quit. My budget is not so big that I can afford even only the special editions that I like from a single model. I guess I'm just too poor. LOL

DOn't get me wrong I like the variation, but when they pump pens like this, it feels less special and compeling to me to buy them, since I know there will be another one just around the corner, and just like this I haven't bought a Pelikan pen in more than 3 years, I just can't decide between them, so I don't buy at all. LOL

I have the same impression as Waltz for Didi (collecting Pelikans for 11 years), which has made the special edition lose a bit of its lustre. Now they have one special edition in the m600 model, the white 'candy' m600, the Art series, and the special editions in the other sizes. I used to collect the new m600s every year but now that I have a large collection, I can't justify buying all the annual special editions.

I like the concept of this pen and the PVD, which is 'out there' for Pelikan, but not a huge fan of solid colored pens. (I recently got the Parker check models, which reminded me of just how much of a difference it makes to have some contrast in color). Would have preferred a striped version. Still holding out on a switch back to transparent stripes--I recall that one of the spokespersons of the company acknowledged that they had heard the criticism...the ink window on this model is likely a response to that.

Held in a 'forefinger up' grip.

Yup, that's the one! A nice little pen, and very reasonably priced at the time. (And I didn't see it anywhere else, making me think that it might be a Galeria Kaufhaus exclusive.)

Oh, dear! You do know that Pelikans tend to multiply, don't you, each one apparently laying a clutch of eggs that somehow turn into more Pelikans. Just sayin'...

That warm grey is not bad. That dak gray trim… not so sure. Interesting

Yeah, I was this close to pulling the trigger, but something felt off to me with that combination.

Maybe a traditional, dull ruthenium plating instead of PVD, could better translate those "authentic 70s-80s office equipment" vibes I got from the initial presentation :)

@lamarax yup, now that you mention it, I think it would work better… but then again it’s just me and I’m pretty sure many fanboys will buy up these M670s
