They do have a nice selection of pens at good prices.

Their daily offers are even better.

And as you said, they offer 12 months of warranty and describe the pen correctly - not like many sellers on Yahoo Auctions.

The only place where I would buy expensive pens online.

The website says that they do not accept foreign credit cards and require a domestic address.  Penguincollector, how did you get around this?

I use a proxy buyer that they have a relationship with called Buyee. It comes up automatically for me  either as a pop up or on the lower left hand side of the screen when I visit their website.

This is an example of how helpful (and enabling!) people here can be.  I was having trouble using the Kingdom Note website, and Penguincollector spent lots of time back & forth kindly messaging with me to figure it out, and then Mke showed us how to get the daily updates.  I'm now awaiting my Pelikan M800!

Actually, you can switch the Kingdom Note website language to English (upper right side) and you can register for their newsletter. I think (I forgot), you will get then the daily offers by mail too.

But when you get it, you must be REALLY QUICK or some of the offers are already bought.

I can understand prices rising due to inflation.  That is certainly nothing new.  My.  I am now well into retirement so inflation means a lot more than when I was working.  That means I have to be more careful how I spend my money.  I have been buying only pens with gold nibs.  Now I’m wondering,  might I be just as happy with a well tuned steel nib?

seriously, it often sounds like the biggest difference in nibs comes from the way they are tuned.  Since I’ve never tuned a pen, I can’t answer that question but I’d love to know.

This has been addressed to death in many places on this forum, and my experience bears this out too. I have expensive Japanese and European pens with gold nibs, and sometimes they have had serious issues writing well out of the box and needed serious work to make them write well.

On the other hand, two of my favorite pens are a TWSBI 580 with a stainless steel medium nib, and an Asvine 200 with a standard stainless steel Asvine medium nib. They wrote flawlessly out of the box, and write without fail every time even if I pick them up after weeks.

In fact, I write more frequently with the Asvine and the TWSBI more than I write with the more expensive pens in my collection. I think a well tuned steel nib can be as good as an equivalent gold nib.

Since you mention you prefer an ultra smooth writing experience, and would ideally not like to spend a ton of money on a pen, I cannot look past the Asvine 200. It would be difficult to find better value at this or at any other price point for what you are looking for.
