This is a case of coming here for the reviewer, @LizEF.

:) Thank you!

Definitely not an ink I'd race to grab. I'd still put this up there as a rare ink, I've never even heard of them making this, only vintage. And from a once-proud and vibrant house of penmakers. So it goes.

Yeah.  I'm still hoping they resume ink-making, but I won't hold my breath.

Wait wait … too much to digest for me; did Sheaffer now completely stop making bottled Skrip? Fortunately I have enough vintage Skrip for a lifetime, but that would be sad.

I can confirm that the USA made Skrip green ink is definitely green. Not a very much saturated green, but certainly no teal or turquoise. Not a bad ink, but there are better ones (e.g. Diamine Sherwood Green) nowadays.

I don't know all the details, but Sheaffer was purchased, I believe by a company in India, and the only inks that appear to be available at present are black, blue, and blue-black.  And even those might just be old stock - I don't know.  I can find some cartridge packs on Amazon, but it basically looks like current ink production is very limited or non-existent.

I don't know either but I was curious so I went to Sheaffer's website and, distracted by a calligraphy set, I found it has "24 Classic ink cartridges (4 blue, 4 Black, 4 Blue-black, 4 Red, 4 Brown and 4 Green)".

Here's a hotlinked image of those cartridges:

Regarding the color: based on what my eye sees here on my display, if I only had the choice to call it blue or green, I would say green. It's close but not close enough that I have any doubts about that call.

Thanks for the great review!

That's interesting.  I can also find a pack of cartridges with 5 different colors in it.  Red and Green being the only ones I'd want (and Brown not included - would love to try the Brown).  5 Brown cartridges would cost me $11.  Not worth it, I think.

:D So far, I only know of one magic ink - the one Makhabesh used with the matching magical notebook to pull his mom, et al, to Bicbiro.

You mean Bic ink? 🙀

But I'm sure there are lots of them (you'll have to wait for review #301 to find out why I'm sure there are lots of them :D ).

301?! Wow! I wish I had numbers my reviews. But I never thought I would be reviewing more than 5 inks :)

Of course, that does bring up the question - if Essri gets his own pen and magical ink, what magical ink would a snek want? 🐍

Snek is more of the dancing kind. He'll dance his way into time :)

More seriously, I was referring to writing, which technically doesn't require ink, but either way, it's how / one way we learn about the past - by what they wrote!

WIse words. I wonder if most writing was done by ink and paper or now with the digital democratization we have surprised centuries of carved/ handwritten words :)

No idea, though I suspect the carved / engraved word will outlast our digital words, at least for the foreseeable future - I mean, which of us can still open whatever files we had under Win3.1?  Microsoft are determined to ensure we can't.  And while in theory the internet is forever, in reality, stuff disappears from it all the time (usually, the stuff you want to keep disappears and the stuff that never should have been there stays longest...  ).
