And the fun of watching them fixed up and listed for sale, seeing which ones I thought were more, and which ones less, expensive.

I'll echo this wholeheartedly.  I sent three boxed lots of pens and pen cases to Bob recently and was really glad for the hassle-free, straightforward experience.  I feel like I got great value back for every item as well.
