A kind, mutual pen-friend sent me a sample of this and now it is on my 'to buy' list - I love it. The rainy/cloudy feel of the color really comes across in the washes in your cute sketch. Thanks for the always great review!

On my screen, some of the writing samples (particularly with broader nibs) it looks similar to some vintage Quink Permanent Blue Black

I think it goes greyer than those teal-like older blue blacks from Parker, Sheaffer, and Waterman, if the dye in those inks hasn't weakened. But, yeah, good observation - definitely along those lines.

I think one can call it a grey-blue :)

Thanks for another great review @yazeh, yeah I still find myself reaching for this one.

This is now the third review of this intriguing ink, which has gained some following with good reason.

Oh-kay, I'll also provide a shameless plug for my review! I never got down to the rest of them....

Thanks for doing that. Indeed it's an intriguing ink and aptly titled so :thumbup:

Names of Japanese Colours - Ainezumi

Ai = Indigo

Ainezu = 藍鼠

Google translates this to 'blue mouse', which is very appropriate for this review! (The first letter by itself translates to 'indigo'.) I suspect 鼠/'mouse' represents grey (color of mouse fur) in this context, rather than the actual animal. (?)

EDIT: I didn't notice that "Ainezumi" in @Karmachanic's is a link. So, now that I've followed the link I see that the 'nezumi' part is grey and also translates to mouse. 鼠色 - nezumiiro - Meaning, Kanji, Romaji & Translation - Names of Colors in Japanese (japanesewithanime.com)

Thanks for posting that. I f you check @namrehsnoom review (2nd paragraph) there's a description depicting rain and the painting related to it:

Undoubtably, the blue mouse is on one of the bridge piers, out of view. :thumbup:

I suspect the blue hues in this ukiyo-e print are from Prussian blue.

I found this really wonderful & beautifully done page on ukiyo-e wood-block prints: The Colorful World of Ukiyo-e (loc.gov)  If you scroll down a little a menu appears at the top (on my laptop, at least) with a link to "Colorants" and, from there, you can scroll down to the "Blues" sections. They mention dayflower, indigo, and Prussian blue. If you scroll down to the last print in the Blues section - the one by Hokusai with Mt Fuji in the background - they say the blue there is predominantly Prussian blue and, as you can see, it gives a wide range of blue hues. (One interesting thing is that, although the word "ai" is associated with indigo, "aizuri-e" prints were done with Prussian blue.) The Hiroshige ukiyo-e that is the subject of this Taccia ink was done in 1857 which would be well into the time blues were generally done using Prussian blue, before, it seems, synthetic colors were used.
