Faber Castell Turquoise

This is a very wet, light blue /turquoise by Faber-Castell, a shading monster decent water resistance, cheap price, with a hint of sheen. It doesn’t like copy paper

Writing Samples:

It's difficult to scan, but this is not a Caribbean style turquoise :)

On Midori under artificial light you might see a hint of reddish sheen.

Thank you, @yazeh for another summery-ink review! :)  Those be some serious quotes! :o  The comparisons help - a very blue "turquoise".  Love our beach-lounging kitty and mouse.  And the water-test scene.  But most of all, the artwork! :D  A nice relaxing day at the beach watching a volcano erupt!

I'm a sucker for a good turquoise. Let's see if I pull the trigger on this one.

Thanks again @LizEF! Always a happy day when we get one of your reviews.

Ohhh thank you but...too late 😕 I impulse bought way too quickly, I mean, a blue leaning turquoise with good lubrication 😱

So more seriously, thank you for your review, I would otherwise not have considered a FC ink, nor even looked at a review of it, hadn't it been for your name. Talk about preconceptions :D

For me it was an impulse buy too. I was looking for a replacement turquoise ink. And the price was right :)

The price was right, 4€ for 30mL! Now I'm tempted to go see what their other inks are like. Also the Graf von F-C...I thought these were mostly on the dry side 🧐

Yep. 9 Cdn $. Though Noodler's is cheaper by volume ;)  Ah the last temptation? :D

Thank you, @yazeh, for this turquoise ink review.

As I wrote elsewhere, turquoise inks are always serious business but do not vary much between different brands. There is a standard dye and either noting else or a bit of green or a bit of blue (=pink or brown) is added to have this minimal deviation. Or in short: as absolutely necessary as a turquoise ink is on any serious desk, this necessity decreases rapidly with each additional one in the collection. ;) 🤭

The water test seems to have a fair equality in species! 👍 Thank you!

Your artwork is, as usual, the most exciting part of your reviews! I'm looking forward to your next review and graphical presentation :) and I'm now inspired in planning my summer vacation! ;)

(do not feel stressed, it is meant as honest expression of curiosity)

One life!

Thanks for the explanation, professor 😊

Yes. I have to keep your sensibilities in mind, most of the time 😂

Definitely a summery ink, and I just saw a real life example in a pen pal letter.

But would I buy it, in spite of the very tempting attributes? I already have soooo many of these summer backyard pool inks (including Prevenche) that I don't know. Even with Kitteh and Mousie doing their best to persuade me.

And don't I wish I was lounging on the beach with them!

Thanks, @yazeh. Love your sketches and ink-splorations as always! Please keep 'em up.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.
