Is this really a Dinkie?

I have just acquired what I was given to understand was a Conway Stewart Dinkie. It has the CS logo on the clip, has a CS 14 Carat nib '3N' and is an attractive green/brown marble.

However it seems larger than other Dinkie variants - the overall size capped is 12.64 cm compared to approximately 9.2 cm for other Dinkies Screenshot(157).png.cd1d2be5d0429523fa8b35c8cd778004.pngIMG_20240605_111051962.thumb.jpg.c949be63fd1269e21ba4bf16d9f9d473.jpgIMG_20240605_111051962.thumb.jpg.c949be63fd1269e21ba4bf16d9f9d473.jpgas shown at Dinkies & Dandys (conwaystewart.info. The nearest one in size is the 542, but this is still only 11.4cm overall. (Admittedly there are some variants on the list for which no details are given). More importantly, perhaps, there is no imprint on the barrel to indicate 'Conway Stewart' or 'Dinkie'.

Any suggestions as to the variant and possible years of production would be gratefully received!

I think you'll find this is a number 12 from the second half of the 1950s. The style of the clip indicates it is probably from the later years of this period.

Where Conway Stewarts are found with no barrel imprints, this is usually because the barrel is a factory replacement for a broken original.
