Can I get some help identifying?

Hey guys, I bought this pen in hopes of restoring. This is my first project like this. I bought it off eBay. It’s marked with Wearever on the clip and has a clear feed. The only thing that’s throwing me off is the band is much wider than any other pacemakers I’ve seen. I would like to properly ID since now I have to replace the section piece. It broke while trying to take it apart.

There is an old English Joke about a man who stopped his car to ask for directions, this was in the middle of the countryside and the man he asked was an old farm worker walking along with a straw in his teeth.

'Can you tell me the way to Cambridge?'

'Well I could but if I was you I wouldn't start from here' with that the farm worker carried on with his stroll.

This may be the answer to your Wearever question, it isn't the name of the model that is the concern it is how do I find parts for a pen that many people threw away 40 years ago when a part failed because the pens were cheap and disposable.

It is the sort of pen section that some kind person will have in their parts pen.

Good Luck

Do you have a picture of the original (now broken) section as well as the front of the clip? It doesn't look like the Wearever Pacemaker I have but they made a lot of obscure models with parts that they mixed together. I am sure if you got a pen from this same era the section would likely fit as long as it is a similar model - it doesn't need to be the same exact one.

I think most of their pens from around this time used a similar injection molded plastic section which is unfortunately very prone to splitting. I have a Pacemaker myself that has a significant crack in the section and I did not see it until I inked it and it leaked all over my hands.

I would recommend keeping an eye out on eBay for parts lots of Wearever pens and look for lever-fill pens with a similar shape/clear feed. They usually go for pretty cheap and you'll get a lot of parts out of them. It will be difficult to find someone selling a specific replacement section since they're usually worth so little that it's not worth selling.

Unfortunately there is a lot of trial and error when it comes to finding replacement parts, especially when it comes to more obscure or unpopular pens. I have an entire box of parts pens that is only getting bigger, full of parts that almost fit together.

I don’t have a picture of the section. I forgot to take pics before hand. I’ve only seen possible donor pens though.
