No. A senior collector friend also has similar pens with Sheaffer section in Ranga body. His are very old pens and he told me he was the first to get those pens made from Ranga, and which Ranga later started offering to others as well.

I'd love to hear the folks at Ranga chime in on this topic. About 10 years ago we had Ranga make some pens for No Nonsense nibs as well as some for Targa nibs, and they never mentioned any previous experience with Sheaffer sections .....

Yes, the section is the problem. The acrylic can't be made thin and still be strong enough for a regular #6 nib unit. In the case of our pens, they use the Sheaffer screw in section which screws straight into the barrel.

Teri,

Thanks for the confirmation on this issue.

Yup, would love to hear from @mpkandanon this. I can't name the Collector, since it was discussed out of FPN in personal chat. Would request Mr.Kandan to tell us if he made pens with Sheaffer Inlaid nib section before. And it was certainly over 10 years ago, around 2010-2011 I think.

I’m so curious to try a Ranga, I think I’ll get along so well with those long, tapered sections. They look brilliant. However the options of different models is overwhelming. I generally like larger pens, would the Splendour with #8 nib be a good choice?

I recently purchased a Ranga Samurai with a #8 nib, in PEEK. its quite good to write with (nib is mine, steel #8 from magna carta). Its not as large as the splendour, but it fits me well. splendor is perhaps an inch taller and much fatter than this, if you like bigger pens, its a good choice.
