Sailor Pro Gear Question

I acquired a black and silver trimmed Pro Gear with a 21K what I assume is rhodium plated monotone F nib rather than the typical two tone. Started searching to get an idea of production dates and haven’t found another with a monotone silver colored nib. Don’t believe it’s a specialty nib, has typical H-F mark on the side. Has a Kirk Speer smooth and tune and it writes spectacularly. So wet it thinks it’s a Pelikan! Just wondering when Sailor produced this pen with the silver colored nib.

The nib could have also been "borrowed" from a 1911L. I am sure you could ask some shops to do this when you buy a new pen.

Thought hadn’t even crossed my mind. Certainly could be the case.

And then, there is the possibility that this was a shop-special limited edition.

Anything is possible. I kind of figured that if it was a limited edition I’d have found another one or two with the multiple searches I tried, but no dice. However it ended up being the way it is, it’s a marvelous pen.

Yes, it is. I had three of them, a silver-trimmed one with the nib in the middle and a gold-trimmed with the nib on the left. Additionally, I had it as a piston filler.

I sold all of them as I need to slim down.

But, I still have many pens - enough for several life times.

@mke I think you owe me money! You posted those 1911L and I went back and it made me take another at a lightly used clear and gold demonstrator I’d seen. Perfect match for the 1911S clear demonstrator I already had and well, you know how the story ended. Kirk tuned the nib on this one as well and it’s another fabulous pen. I’ll tell you where to mail the check ha ha ha.

So sorry, checks cannot be sent out of Japan. Enjoy your new pen.
