I've found that to be the case, as well....  Most recently when a friend gave me a set of highlighter pens sold by Five Below (fountain pen nib on one end, felt tip on the other) as a gag gift.  And eventually the person I was dealing with in their chat window told me that they took Kaweco converters but apparently that isn't actually the case because someone had one at a pen club meeting a couple of months back (and no, those DON'T fit... ).
