With Bach almost anything drab can go ;) While I can appreciate his music and love his violin partitas. I cannot stand his god like status in music studies. Sometimes I wish Mendelssohn hadn't re-discovered him 😛

I really admire Bach and do think he was the greatest composer ever but, generally, I have to be in the right mood because the music can be very demanding to listen to. I'd much rather listen to Haydn - whatever mood I'm in it makes me feel better.

I was just being a bit childish. I had to do many harmony exercises following the Bach formulas and it drove me nuts. But his Cantatas conducted by Philippe Herreweghe are often a delight. And his Partitas with Milstein are a balm for the soul. But sometimes his music seems repetitive and lacks variety..

When I was younger I favoured late romantics and frenetic Shostakovich. But nowadays, I've come to appreciate Haydn's early symphonies. They are so easy to listen and so joyful and fun! When I switch to the Paris and London ones, I've more trouble focusing. There is YouTube channel,  The Ultimate Classical Music Guide by Dave Hurwitz,

He's done the analysis of the first 53. They are fun to listen and humorous.

Thank you, @yazeh, for this ink review, for the historical background and for your always entertaining drawings.

In this case, I like your drawings more than the ink! However, I like some of Vivaldis compositions, most of the time I experience it as "a bit hectic" (or, is "overexcited" the right word?).

Almost all had been told by other commenters. What remains for me is to express my pleasure when looking at the violin playing cat in Venice and to express my sorrow about cat in the water test - why always cat? To be fair, mouse should also volunteer for some water tests! :);) :)

One life!

Exactly. They are fun but a bit formulaic and repetitive after a while :)

Well maybe it's one of those water loving cats like a Bengal ;) or maybe the cat is a self-sacrificing one 😛 and doesn't want the mouse to be washed away :D
