Makes me think of the Waterman Carène solution for filling from a bottle: return exactly four drops of ink, draw back the remaining air...

The nib unit slides out forward, don't twist it, you will damage the section or snap the thin feed end.

After a good soaking, days if necessary, try to slide the nib out.

If and when the nib does come out, it can then be flushed properly.

Hope this helps.

So I'm getting back around to this pen and after soaking it again for a week the nib finally came out.  Unfortunately it was broken in side.  I suspect the original owner may have tried to glue it back into the pen and that what's clogging it.  This photo helps a lot, however, I was wondering if when the feed is removed is the section completely hollow or does the feed push up against a flat part in the section.

To ask another way can I tap the rest of the feed out from the barrel side of the section.  I know this is a last ditch attempt and I still may not be able to get the feed back together with some more intentional gluing.  With out a replacement section and feed though which I have yet to find I cannot break this anymore then it already is.

If you need a section I do have a NOS spare, but the shipping may be as expensive as the part.20241004_211202.thumb.jpg.dab21d07cb210676143f4a506e4e594d.jpg

I may need one, however, I also need the feed.  Any chance you have that as well?

If you look down in that section is it hollow all the way through?

I don't think I have a feed.

The inside of the section has a nipple for holding/sealing the converter. There is a 20241004_214917.thumb.jpg.b60adbded4c90a5cdf3a0802ccf63d02.jpg3mm hole into the front half where the feed sits.

The hole is out of focus but I'm sure you get the idea.20241004_215423.thumb.jpg.7b6fd4f6b184dbb0bb4c8956eae8ef24.jpg

That's what I had suspected.  I don't think it will be possible for me to get the feed out of this.   Well the other half of the feed.

I'll search for a feed and see what I can come up with.

The thin part of the feed that sits in the nipple, is 3mm, are you able to tap it out with a 2.5mm drill bit or something slightly smaller diameter than 3mm?

Can you see from the part of the feed you have, is it only the thin bit which has broken off??

I can push the thin bit of the feed in from the back of the section, so I am guessing that the hole is not tapered.

I can give that a go yes.  The thin 3mm piece is still there

Here is a photo of what I'm working with.   I had thought that, using a hobby drill, i could put 2 pins in the feed the solvent weld it together.  That's if I could get it out and cleaned up.

Its a hail Mary for sure but what have I got to lose.   At the very least I will get the nib off and clean that up.   It could be used as a dip pen if it was cleaned up behind the nib.  Maybe enough ink held to sign something.

ReplSo you will have to try to drive that out from the back. I thought it was only the 3mm part that had snapped off.

10 mins in an ultrasonic cleaner will break down any ink holding it in but it does look like it may have been glued in.

I think at this point you may be better to replace the nib and section. There are very occasional nibs come up on fleabay.

It does seem like mission impossible when!  Certainly if the parts were common i wouldn't even consider this.

I'll keep.checking the web.  Thanks for all this help

Good luck.  Let me know if you want a section.
