My latest DROMGOOLES electronic message listed dates for this activity, altho I can't imagine why anyone would want to do their own assembly.

Well....  your imagination isn't big enough.  :D   Either that, or you aren't enough of a geek.  I likely would.  But then again, I often end up doing pretty close to that by the time I'm done with a new pen anyway.  It's VERY rare for me to just ink a pen and write with it as I received it and be satisfied.

If I had any interest in Kaweco pens I would jump on this in a New York honkosecond*.  I have always loved taking things apart and putting them back together, usually with no parts left over.  Sometimes I just buy the pieces and assemble the thing only to give it away to someone who has a use for it.  Assembly is the act of taking parts and putting them together in such a way that they gain function.  I gain a lot of satisfaction doing that even if it is only a few pieces.  It's a good thing I can't afford the Lego Millenium Falcon kit.

*  Honkosecond.  (n).  The shortest timespan ever measured.  The length of time, measured in tiny fractions of a nanosecond, between the time the traffic signal in front of your car changes to green and the cab driver behind you hitting his/her horn.

Oh, as someone who grew up in the greater NYC area, I am SOOOO saving the definition of "honkosecond"!

I’d love to be able to do this. I’ve been on a Kaweco buying spree. I need to count my before the spree pens, and the after pens(and counting). But let’s just say it’s likely 30.

But will it be done in the US?

And the color is gorgeous. Waah! I want one! Now!

One of the US stops is in Chicago. I’ve texted my brother about it, because it would make a good birthday gift for me. 😉 He’s going to go, and DIY a Kaweco for me. It’s this month too.

Woo hoo! My brother went to Atlas Stationers on Tuesday, and made the Berry pen for me. Now the wait.

A bit late to this, but there's one in Hexham, UK, in November.  Looking forward to it, something a bit different.
