Baystate Blue.
It is stimulating.
And in the context of the question, I think it would be amusing to be stuck with it forever.
I used to drive a truck whose horn would get stuck on if you turned the steering wheel a certain way. Same idea.

That wasn't on my bingo card for how someone would tell the world what they think is amusing.

It is a great ink. A pity they trebled the price, though. It was far from my first blue (excluding blue blacks)- that prize goes to the disappointing Pilot washable blue from my school days. It was one of the very first blues I bought when beginning this hobby, though, and was easily the best of those. Diamine Majestic Blue showed me back then how it could be tricky pairing inks with pens and paper, as that had a horrid tendency to skip in most pens I had then when writing on Clairefontaine.

*Parker washable blue. Not Pilot. My mistake. That insipid thing is possibly what inspired me to search out more saturated colours.

Probably a wetter version of Pelikan 4001 Turquoise (still exploring what that is). If I can only use one ink for the rest of my life, it will have to be an ink I can use in my Platinum Plaisir (J Herbin Eclat de Saphir was miserable in that pen) and a blue/turquoise ink that shades but doesn't sheen.

The pen can make all the difference.

Have you considered just throwing a drop of White Lightning into that ink to get the desired wetness? I've been amazed at how effective that stuff is at increasing wetness.

With only one ink then there is no need to clean so then BSB it would be.

Pilot Iroshizuku Ama- Iro or Kon-Peki might work for your Plasir. I also like Platinum’s Mixable Aqua Blue.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of16 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144R F, Diamine Bah Humbug

Parker 45 Deluxe M, Lamy Turmaline

Unknown Chinese Maker A-108 Acrylic Pen M, Diamine Dusted Truffle

Waterman Caréne Black Sea, Teranishi Lady Emerald

Pilot 742 FA, Namiki Purple cartridge

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

I have not. Pelikan 4001 Turquoise has shading that I don't like for work notes.

Parker Quink Black...I know I use their Washable Blue a lot, but the Black is very well behaved, and it's a color I could happily use exclusively...and did use exclusively for many decades.

Dear FPN Community,

Imagine for a moment that you're faced with a rather daunting decision: you can only choose one ink to use for the rest of your life. Yes, just one!

If I could only use one ink for the rest of my life it has to be one I can use with all my pens, and one that I will not get bored with using it day after day. Also, it has to be one that can be used for any purpose, either for work or for pleasure. So my  choice would be a blue/black, Akkerman's The Hague "Business in the Front Party in the Back."

A couple of years ago I would have said Montblanc Permanent blue until I discovered it was staining with residue the ink window of my Pelikan M205. Today I would say Platinum blue black.

I have the sneakiest (and thus most correct 🤣) answer to this question: KWZ I.G. Blue #1.

Is it shady? Yes indeed. Is it waterproof? It is, or is close enough.

Is it a lovely gray all on its own? Why, certainly, and I can love a good shady water resistant gray, for years if I must.

But ... what's that you say? Because it's gray, if I dilute it down and mix in dyestuffs, I can make a somewhat-shady, semipermanent mix featuring *almost any color I can imagine*?

Now it's not just an ink... it's an ur-ink. Mother of a thousand shades.

Note that I have yet to test this theory. And if you claimed I couldn't, then I'd have to go with Waterman Tender Purple mixed with a little Platinum Carbon Black, for a shading purple-black.

And if you said I'd have to choose ONE ink, unmixedy, then I would bite someone. And probably choose IG Blue #1 again. But I'd be grumpier about it 🤣

Sailor Sei-boku.

Permanent. Nice interesting colour that is still professional. Easy to clean out. Great on poor paper.

oh dear. These questions always make me question why I have 49275 varieties of ink. Saying that, I would choose Waterman Harmonious Green. Several reasons - it behaves impeccably, I love the colour, it's cost-effective, doesn't try to eat your pens and it was the chosen colour of a dear colleague and friend who passed away far too young. Also, no one else ever chooses it, y'all are busy fighting over the 4001 Blue-black 🤣 If I needed a black ink I'd have to break out a Bic...

If I had to pick a more "sensible" colour then Diamine Eclipse would do nicely.
