I guess, there is no such thing as fun when using black ink. ;)

It all depends on the use one wants to give them.

Ink serves for more than writing. In sketching, or drawing, or even as outlines for painting, black or grey inks can do a nice work and yield lots of fun.

And used with brush pens for use in sumi-e or just plain brush drawing, black and grey inks can be awesome (and run out much faster :D).

Of course other color inks can be used as well for these purposes.

True, not all inks are suitable for all uses. But that is what reviews are for, aren't them?

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

Thank you, @LizEF, for your always honest and reliable work done even with black inks!  :)

:) You're most welcome!

Well, not for some of us, anyway.

However, I got two of these smaller square bottles together with two Aurora pens. I would not had bought these. Now that I have them, I use this ink (still first bottle) from time to time. Aside from being black, nothing else to complain.

Yes, it's definitely a good black ink and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to folks who want a black ink.  (I might recommend having their eyes examined, but otherwise... :lticaptd:)

I'm looking forward to the upcoming events. I wish only the very best to our magic heroes :)  and frightening adventure reports in the story parts to come for us! ;)

:D Thank you!

PS: Is the black Aurora ink a dramaturgical tool similar to the black cross-fade in film?

A good artist can make any ink look good! :)  Too bad I'm not a good artist! :lticaptd:

(Althooooough...  Zentangles do look good in straight black ink, and the opaque and thin line made by Aurora Black would make it a good candidate for folks who want to do monochrome Zentangles!)  (I've been far too busy and stressed to consider doing Zentangles - which suggests they would do me some good, nevertheless...)

Those do not show up on PC when I click the smiley-face button in the editor window.  My guess is that mobile browsers have logic to recognize a menu for selecting emojis and add to that menu all the emojis available in the phone's keyboard app.  (I have no idea what happens on Apple computers, but the above seems to be what happens on mobile phones.)

ETA: Alternately, Wim has enabled more emojis for the site's mobile template than he has for it's non-mobile template.  Off to test that theory by turning my computer into a mobile phone! :D

Nope.  Mobile-phone PC does not increase the available emojis.  It's logic in the mobile browser itself (or perhaps the mobile operating system, though that seems less likely).  Or, I suppose it's possible the site logic is looking for some metadata that reveals whether you're using a mobile OS / browser version.  Something like that.

Many site don't have the more interesting emoji's. So I copy them from https://emojipedia.org/zipper-mouth-face

and then paste them into the thread :)

But they're not from here, rather from my iThing keyboard.

I avoid using my "phone" for forums (or almost anything, really).  It's basically a mobile library for when I'm someplace where I have to wait, and sometimes a portable game (where the game gets deleted as soon as I discover I'm spending too much time playing it, and a new game is selected the next time I'm wanting to waste too much time...).

Tell me about it (said the person who just spent 20 minutes playing 'fish-Itaire.')

Aurora black had been for many decades before the many Black Hole Noodlers, the world best black, Pelikan 4001 coming in second. (oh, not all that good with an EEF nib on PP paper.)

I had said, I'd buy some just to say I had some.....but my 15 year old bottle of 4001 Black is still half full.................Second best black has been doing me just fine.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.

 Yes, I would pick Aurora over Pelikan, I think.  I guess the race to make an ink that sucks in so much light that it warps the paper will continue, though perhaps Platinum Chou Kuro has taken it to the next level - we'll see.

Thank you, @txomsy. Sure! I use black ink for some calligraphy and for drawing! :)

It was my intention to use @LizEF's quote.

zipped-mouth

Ahh! Got you! We are at the black cross-fade! 😮

Same for me, I do not see a zipped mouth face in the standard selection. But I have this: 😶 (reminds me on Matrix 1). And this is also not too bad:

One life!

🤐 I do see the zip-mouthed emoticon on my Linux Firefox. But you have to scroll down the large emoticon list to find it. Maybe that is the thing. Some modern interfaces tend to hide the scrollbar from users unless you hover the mouse over the border of the window, making it seem as if there is no scrollbar and no extra elements, misleading unaware users.

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.
