I believe MB will do everything in their power to extract every penny (Euro, Franc, Pound, Yen...) they can from their clientele. Montblanc is unapologetic about their pricing. Nor should they be. They seem to know their customer base quite well and will likely price the 100th Ann Editions just above our tolerance.

Totally agree. That's why I'm still more devoted to the models (limited editions, etc.) from the 1990's. In fact, it's a money-saving decision for me not to buy new pens for two main reasons: 1) the recent collections are not attractive to me, and 2) the prices are going insane. My last acquisition? Bach donation FP complete new set for about 800 euros.

I've read elsewhere that the theme is going to be the olympic ring colors referencing the 1924 Paris Olympics, which checks out so far. The gold andd red, normally I would say that's directed at the Chinese market, but I don't think it would do well there either. The green I'll agree is a bit compelling, but 4 figures for a Classique, assuming that's where it will land, is frankly stupid, and while I have plenty of more expensive pens than that, it's not about the price but about not appreciating being taken advantage of. You can charge me $4000 if the pen is worth it, but these are quite cheap. I hope one day the LVMH/Richemont model implodes on itself, but I think with all the dumb money in the world, that day is a long way away.

I must say that I'm extremely happy with the models so far (if that is indeed what they'll release).

It means I'm keeping my money without any doubt.

Interesting point of view. Linking an anniversary of that magnitude to an event (Olympics) is nonsense. I agree that nowadays, the design and materials of the pens (in general) are decreasing in quality and attractiveness. Well, it's good for me because I can go to the 90s models I like the most (my last acquisition was the Bach donation FP - gorgeous!). I'm really hesitant to buy one of the current anniversary editions because of the cost-benefit assessment: it's too expensive for what I'm getting in exchange.

It is fun to see these photos — as others have noted, the green is the most compelling or alluring to me — the Aurora-like clip is an interesting choice. Looking forward to seeing them in hand and to learn the pricing.

From what I heard from my reseller, Olympic series is another one and not related to the Meisterstück 100th Anniversary. Will see when they will be available but for the moment, if for the Meisterstück Anniversary, no other versions are released in more than Classique, Doué and Solitaire, I don't see how MB can justify 5 years of work on them... for the moment it is my wallet that is the happiest 🤣

Good one! Nice to learn that Olympic series is another one, and that we have a 'cheaper' version of the anniversary (the classique, because the Doué will be pricy and the Solitaire the prices will be in the sky).

Not appealing to me. Not at all.

They took an Art Deco pattern from their archives, which originally was placed on a cylindrical black body. Now putting it on a cigar shape is totally misplaced as these are other proportions.

However, I‘ve heard they will release a 149 grey one and full resin versions of those three later these year. Stay tuned…

A 100 Year 146 in Blue Marble and a 100 Year 149 in a "Fluid" Black Marble are both currently listed for sale on eBay by a French seller.

Not sure if links are allowed but the Item Number for the 146 is 256431712610 and the Item number for the 149 is 256430379289

Some nice photos of them have been posted, if you are interested.

Not too bad!

I like those but could do without the metal top and filling knob. At least the section is plastic.

I look forward to seeing them.

Thank you for the heads up.

Wow, even for the 100th year of Meisterstuck people are still just going to get the new cheapo packaging.

These look great! Thanks for the heads up. I wonder if a resin limited edition run of 149's will be available alongside the special editions, much like the 1924 piece limited edition 75th anniversary 149s.

I fully agree on the proportions! If they did that on a flat top cylindrical body I'd probably want one.

Now the 149 on eBay is appealing and it's very likely that I will get one. A grey one isn't bad either (although, I'd love to see a coral red instead).

Thanks for the info!

Very interesting the "normal" edition (not the doué or solitaire). However, it is too expensive for such a model. I doubt whether or not to buy one of the regulars (probably not). Let's see the next models and select one that could be remarkable and affordable (?).

Ih the 3rd photo of the 149 eBay listing, it shows other models that will be released. I'm not sure if I like any of them? I hope there will be more than these as I wouldn't buy any of them...

To be quite honest I like the 149 black with marbled effect (cap) along with the 146 blue with marbled effect (cap). Awaiting to see the coral 146 along with the green 146. It is reminiscent of Montblancs celluloid Meisterstück models. I was hoping The Origins would be more vintage in terms of design and true to its origin.

The third photo of the 149 Ebay listing, for me, is showing only the guarantee booklet, mixing pictures from the past and today's editions of the anniversary. Probably a relationship showing the inspiration of these anniversary models. My interpretation.

While I'm pretty anti Montblanc at this point for a variety of reasons, I could maybe see getting that green one if they do it in the Le Grand or 149 size as well.

That was also my interpretation!
