Waterman Emblem Desk Pen

Here is a wonderful pen which ticks a lot of boxes of what I'm looking for in a pen:

- vintage with flex, lots of tipping and handsome looking nib

- user repairable

- nice, to me at least, form factor and comfort

The pen was still usable when I received it but I promptly "resacced" it as a precaution. The section was very firmly held together but I persisted with dry heat and finger strength until it gave. I was able to install the new sac without cutting it, so there is a very impressive amount of ink once filled. I didn't remove the nib or feed as I figured it was clean enough after some soaking and a quick flush.

I'm no flex writer, but will use this pen for drawing and journaling. I've only got some Noodler's Black on hand, which I've diluted with distilled water, even so I can see how this pen will shade beautifully with the proper ink. I love the form factor, it reminds me of a fine kolinksy sable brush, think Windsor and Newton Series 7. I've no need to polish the body or do any other restoration. I've been using a Pentel poster pen's cap while waiting to find an appropriate pen desk pen holder.
