Is this Balance (circa 1931-1933, I believe red-veined grey pearl) discolored?

I am looking at this pen for purchase. In general, it looks darker than photos I've seen of red-veined grey pearl pens and the top of the cap seems lighter. Does it look discolored to you? Is it not the red-veined grey pearl color?

I think the bright background makes the previous photos underexposed.

Here's another photo:

UPDATE: The pen was just sold to someone else but I'm still curious if this is discolored, please.

The top of the cap is starting to rot.

I have one of these in much better condition. It's a marvelous pen. Keep looking!
