Parker UK Duofold ‘Junior’ - which has a rather ‘bouncy’ nib on it.

Semi-flex.........mine reddish brick brown one, and quite a shock when I put that nib to my thumbnail, assuming Parker made only nails P-51, and semi-nails like a P-75.

Lately it needed  the nib hot water fitted to the feed. Then it worked well.....first time I'd used it in ages....and I'd only put a little ink in it....so it was a surprise when it ran out of ink so fast.

But by inking a pen to a minimum, one gets empty pens faster....sooner to clean and try other inks.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

This is a Repost follow up to the above discussion of the FPR Flex nibs.

OK, so all the parts for my Flex nib project are in:

The nib is a very smooth EF, but the big question is Does it Flex?  It does.  See Below.

A quick and dirty test...  it's as fine as my Pilot 743 FA and flexes a little more with a similar amount of pressure.  I wrote 'Ultra Flex' with the 743 next to Jinhao 9016 FPR for a direct comparison of line width.  The Pilot has Diamine Bilberry which sheens gold.  I suppose I could have tried to print better and made those Ss better but this was a quick and dirty.  I haven't filled the pen yet and just dipped the FPR nib into Waterman Blue.

Both pens are active now.  Flex 2 has a wetter Sailor #743 ink than Flex 1 with Waterman Blue.  The Pilot 743 has Diamine Bilberry and the Jinhao X159 Sailor Shikiori Shigure.  On the bottom left is the extremely smooth and wet Goulet flex nib with Sailor Illinois, in a Wing Sung 699.

Not all nibs are equal so I always order multiple nibs.  I ordered 3 flex nibs.  2 were smooth and one will require additional attention.

Today I am using a paper from Vietnam, a pen from China (modified), and a doctored vintage Sheaffer Peacock ink (water, White Lightning)/ Wearingeul Frost Glitter Potion. The glitter made the ink much lighter than expected, probably hard to read, but great for art. large.IMG_4717.jpeg.ba754ae66b2a680550906d00013a3b95.jpeg

Very nice PGC. 👍😀  I see you put on your inventors hat and went into the chemistry lab.  😀👍  I found that glitter makes inks appear lighter too, but CluelessMe put in much more glitter than you did. 😁  or   😱

@USG, the paper makes Yonaga sheen so nicely, and the shimmer really pops. Sailor inks really look their best on Cosmo Snow.

Wouldn’t you say that all inks look their best on Cosmo Snow (& Iroful)?

So far, they have been very good, especially with sheening inks. Some inks, I prefer an ivory or pastel color sheet for writing, but these are definitely the papers to use for pure ink exploration.  Sailor inks in particular have qualities that I only see on these papers.

You got me started on them, with the outline ink search. I have loved them so far. They’re my favorite Amazon impulse purchase.

At least they don't EAT like Tribbles -- except possibly for one's wallet/discretionary budget....
