That's impressive PGC. 😀👍  How's that paper for sheen and shading?

You know, I have a tiny notebook somewhere, that I got in a Dollar Store a few years ago, it came in a pack of 3.  It looked like a mini composition notebook. I think it might be a Mead.

It’s ok, nothing like our usual favorites, but both sheen and shading do show up better in person than in the photo.

Asa Blue remains of Sailor Souten in a way my fevered brain can’t explain right now.

That's interesting...  I have a sample of Souten somewhere, I'll have to check it out..  I like Sailor inks.  Some of them have the ability to Outline, and I'm always on the look out for an Outlining ink. 😀

It might be Sky High, whichever is darker. I rescued a Sailor ink from the Hub’s ink shelter that reminded me of you: Sailor’s 2023 Pen Show Exclusive. It’s a shading orange.

I've finally settled with an admissible ink to complement the M1000's physiognomy, beyond mere color matching. I think 😬

I love Lie de Thé, it’s my favorite dry brown ink.

Me too.

It shades better than MB Toffee.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

It’s been ages since I use Toffee, I will have to look it up to refresh my memory. The only MB inks I have right now are an old W.German Black and a black package of Midnight Blue.  I don’t remember when the packaging changed to the current version.

14-15 years ago....could be 13, in it took me a while to go from 30 ml Pelikan' 4001 at €3.50 to big expensive 50 ml MB inks at €12, then the Toffee at 60 ml was the next year at €13.

Comparing inks that look alike and different pens that have the same ink on Cosmo Snow paper.  The last 3 lines are:

Blue inks, inks that look black but aren't and the last line is EF nibs.  I thought the close ups were very interesting especially the ones that showed how different the same ink could look from a different pen.

Some inks had shading, some had sheen, a couple had shimmer and Doyou didn't do anything.

Also of interest is how different the individual close ups looked from the full page pic.
