How does the Sanzen 68gsm compare to the Tomoegawa 68gsm?

They are both stiffer than their 52 counterparts. The Tomoegawa doesn’t have that smooshy pillow feeling when you write that the Sanzen does, but they both perform similarly. In general, the 3 68 gsm papers are all rather similar in performance and I haven’t seen any feathering on them.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 21 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144R F, Diamine Bah Humbug

Parker 45 Deluxe M, Lamy Turmaline

Pilot Custom 74 MS, Lamy Vibrant Pink

Waterman Caréne Black Sea, Teranishi Lady Emerald

Pilot 742 FA, Namiki Purple cartridge

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

I received clarification from Stephen at Taroko that the current Enigma notebooks are still made Tomoegawa paper, but that some of the other 68gsm products are using the newer Sanzen.  Apparently the next batch of Enigmas will use Sanzen.  I went ahead and ordered four Enigmas anyhow 😀
