How do you display or store your pens?

I just moved mine to a display cabinet.

The top shelf is for inked pens:

The Middle Shelf is for Pelikans, which are about half of my collection. Mostly they're modern (post 1997) Special Editions.

And the bottom shelf is for everything else: American pens, Japanese Pens, and one small, sad stand of pens that need repairs:

How do you guys house your collections?

My pens are stored in drawers with diy felt-covered slots, organised by brand. Those which are inked are now displayed in a glass cabinet so I can see 'em... cos out of sight wasn't working.

First pic shows desktop mini-drawers. Second is a bank of bigger ones which store 13 pens per drawer. Last is the newly repurposed glass cabinet.

I store mine in a variety of cases inside a small closet, in my home office, including some cigar boxes that I repurposed:IMG_8723.thumb.jpg.0b7f6b6fdc6eef9de98f7b28641bc9a0.jpg

The pens currently inked stay in a Franklin-Christoph case + a Pelikan 3-pen case (14 pens + 1 pencil):IMG_8726.thumb.jpg.abfe7a24fe7c9e9f1fb389966e021fd3.jpg

Some of my inks stay right behind my office chair

As for the pens awaiting repair (all ~ 200 of them) they stay in various cigar boxes and any other storage I can find, in a room adjacent to our family room (as you can see I am not organized at all. But my wife puts up with me 🙃). Here is a small sample of the pens awaiting repair (I repair them myself):

@Lam1 what a lovely stash you've got there. Is that a tool box in the second to last photo? It's really pretty.

Yes, that's a tool box (from Harbor Freight, if I'm not mistaken). Its about half filled with tools for pen repair and half with pens.

My solution was to go traditional.

First photo was from when I went to buy it, second with a few of my pens in. Final pic is with a few more pens.

I am inordinately fond of Toyooka Craft's ben boxes. Those sold by Galen Leather are nice too.

I do keep some other pens in various pen cases.

Stored in empty preserves jars and drinking glasses on my desk and in a hutch.  Non-pretty, but functional.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

In my pre-caffeinated state, I would knock everything over daily. Bonus points for personal coordination and grace!

@dms525 Wow, stunning boxes and worthy of your impressive collection. No less than I'd expect from a man who grinds his own flour to bake the perfect loaf.

@thx1138 Wow, you've basically got a high end pen store in your house. Complete with furry shop assistant!  I'd shop there.

Ditto on the furry shop assistant. 😺👍

My pens live in Galen Leather and Girologio cases. I found this chest in an estate sale recently. So now I have to decide which 48 of my pens get to live in it. Apologies for the dreadful lighting.

Awesome find! Looks like the old, fancy storage chests for the silverware you see in upscale period English dramas. Cue the butler.
