And now it is $78!!!

The best thing about this pen is the gorgeous acrylic.  It does look somewhat like a wild honeycomb.  Great depth and variety of golden yellow/brown.  Unfortunately this is the c/c version.  The unknown?  Whether you'll get a good nib.  But this is Amazon.  Just return it in 30 days if you want.

I returned mine.  Not only was the nib defective, but the converter was broken.  Never had this problem with all the $30 Chinese pens I have gotten.  But the return was no hassle.  The acrylic was quite nice but overall I was not impressed with the pen.  I think I am glad it was defective.

I just grabbed this pen. It is a large pen with #6 nib. It is a piston filler.   The trim is sterling silver.    The pen is limited to 88 and normally runs over $500 on sale at other retailers.    The nib was slightly out of alignment.  However, I was able to adjust it.  Great writer.

It dropped to $368.

Here is a plunger filler with 14k nib for $235 with 20% coupon:

That's the one with the Fine Nib. Prices have been like that for a while now. Dropping and dropping and then jumping up again.
It won't be long before the Medium nib jumps back to the $700s or sells out.
The Ultra-fine was $300 when I bought one and is now $744.

My oversight, yes Medium lower price (for now) and Fine nib higher price (for now)....nonetheless, bizarre pricing...

Actually rather typical for Amazon, in my experience.  Slight decreases in price over time, and then when inventory is down to a certain level, it spikes straight to the 'normal' price.  And the medium is now $744.

Just got my Stipula Etruria Magnifica Miele Selvatica a few days ago.  After @txoko's comments about a poor nib, I was anxious enough to ink it up and try it out.

It writes beautifully!  As well as any Etruria I have (I have four).  I put in J. Herbin's Caroube de Chipre ink (which, because of the glitter, can be difficult), but it writes amazingly well.    It writes as well as the Stipula Bellini that I purchased now many years ago, previously my best-writing Stipula.

I am very pleased.

I had considered the pen when it came out initially because of the color, but discounted buying it, as it seemed to be overpriced for a steel nib. But at $97, which is what I paid for it, it is most definitely worth it.

Having bought one of the La Ventidue 22 (and paid significantly more than US$70 for it), I really cannot recommend it to anyone despite the low price — especially low for a piston-filler pen model not made in China.

From design ‘flaws’ that make the piston difficult to operate, to a horrendously poor nib grind, and a scratchy round end (enough to fray threads on fabric on which the pen was clipped) on the metal clip, attesting to worse lack of due care than almost any Chinese pen I've come across, I think Stipula joins the ranks of Visconti in terms of bringing shame to Italian workmanship and casting doubt on the general level of competence of the pen industry there.

I have recently bought 5 Stipulas and I agree that they are like Viscontis in the company's indifference to quality control.  I have 3 with pistons, and they were fine.  I don't use clips, so didn't check that out.  Where my five differed was in the nibs.  3 of the 5 required some work, but in a few minutes all were good to go.  But I was lucky and A Smug Dill wasn't.  As I always say, the biggest advantage of using Amazon is that you can just ship it back easily and for free if your luck is bad.

I have always had good luck with Viscontis until the last I bought.  Authorized dealer and it has zero flow.  DOA.  I've never received such a lemon on a $2 Chinese pen.

Not that easy for me. I'd have to take it to a DHL depot to dispatch it (to return something to any overseas chapter of Amazon, in this case Amazon US) using the prepaid shipping label supplied by Amazon; there is no pick-up service, even though I practically live in Sydney CBD. That means about $8 in train fares (all up), 15 minutes' train ride each way, and about 3km on foot altogether walking to and from the stations, just to get to the closest depot, making it a 90-minute errand.

For a <$30 item sold and shipped by Amazon Japan or Amazon UK, I'm usually able to prevail upon Amazon's customer service to just give me a refund while letting me keep the defective item, because it's unreasonable for me to have to spend $8 and one-and-a-half hours to get a refund just cause Amazon won't offer return shipping service by Australia Post (or Parcelpoint) with local outlets everywhere for Amazon Global Store items. For a >$300 fountain pen I have to return, especially if it's just unsatisfactory but not so outright defective, I'd wear the pain. But for an item price of about $150, that's Halfway Hell.
