“Silver” and “Gold” Pen Club

Penguincollector

Recommended Posts

Just in time for the holidays, I would like to see sparkling (and matte) metal pens. Flighters, covered BHCR, brass, rolled gold, plated, solid, filligree skeletons, bare metals of all sorts, please. Make Burl Ives proud (ask your grandparents, kids). Here are mine minus what is under the tree and my Asvine V169 skeleton that has gone wandering around the house:

I don't have a lot of either (although I do also have several "Flighters" -- would they count as "silver"? ).  I do have a few sterling barrel/sterling overlay pens, and a number of ones that are gold-filled or gold-filled overlays.

But not sure I'm going to have time to get photos taken before the end of the year at this point.

Any and all metals are eligible, @inkstainedruth. Most of mine pictured are Parker flighters. Overlay, whether solid or filigree is wonderful. I am hoping that people also share any holiday gifts that they get through the 12th night.

Metal pens - a couple of stainless steel ones, two gold and four, no, five, solid silver; not counting non-fountain writing instruments.

Love the Asvine V169!

My favorite pen of all time is on the far right.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Gorgeous set of Sheaffer inlays, Amber. I love love love your favorite, the chasing is so beautiful!  Is it an 834, or thereabouts? What’s the multicolored one in the middle?

Love the Asvine V169!

Pictures of your pens would be wonderful if and when you have time. I love silver pens!
The V169, despite it’s heftiness, is a well balanced writer, if a bit stiff at first. A very good value pen. People with large hands would love it.

All of them are the same pen. The multicolored one is just a replacement body made from Acrylic.

They are the Sheaffer Legacy Heritage II with the last one being a Barley corn (If I recall correctly). I've had them for many years. All of them are stubs or cursive italics.  I love this nib and this pen.

I was referring to the model number, but in any case I had the wrong Legacy collection. Stubs and cursive italics give such a nice look to a hand, and I bet those lay down a ton of ink, just the way you like it!

I posted this image in another thread a long time ago. It's hard to collect all the patterns so I only have the ones I like, Ecorce and Damier from Parker 180.

One rollerball and the rest are actually FPs.

I’m not sure if the bottom one counts.

top Kaweco Raw Aluminum, Kaweco Brass Sport,

next row Kaweco AL Anthracite, Parker 51

next row Cross Century ii Starlight and Pilot Elite

next row Knox Plato and Platinum Plaisir Gold

next row Luxury brand ? and Nemosine Fission Rose Gold

next row Jinhao x750 checkerboard and Lamy LX rose gold

next rows Lamy Nexx and Lamy AL Copper plus below it an imposter plastic pen GvFC Grip 2011 Silver Glam

On the bottom is likely not allowed as it is gunmetal but wanted in the photo. It’s a Conklin Endura Deco Crest.

One of the tags is metal, so it’s allowed. If people want to show colors other than regular metal colors, more pens is always the answer. I didn’t even think of all the metal capped pens, I’ll add those in eventually.

Oh, I love these! I really want more 180s. All of the patterns are beautiful to me.  The Ecorce are so pretty, and the Daimer really catches the light.

I don’t want to add all my Lamy AL pens. Too many to wrangle.  I know Retro 51 pens, that aren’t acrylic, have metal under the lacquer or other design. And Karas Kustoms has metal pens. I have several in green, black and blue. I’ll stick to honoring Silver and Gold for Burl Ives! 😄

They can go in the respective color threads, or on here later. I love the filigree pattern of the Endura Crest, and the burgundy Elite is such an elegant pen.
